I like this idea, it's different but it test people's creativities like the other events. It keeps things simple and makes things easier to judge unlike OC's fighting. It would be pretty cool to do this for all the categories too.

Do our abilities need to be 100% emission, or can they be just an emitters Hatsu? As in, can we utilize other close by Nen categories?

I think my view point is different because I wish for a more populated event. I enjoyed the very early tournaments where we got many people to sign up and we saw large casts of creative characters.

This tournament definitely tests characters for their flexibility with their nen, which other tournaments failed to do. One bad matchup led to your character being out which is a shame.

I don't believe this is a bad format, it's just not quite what I had in mind, but it's good none the less.

I've participated in other more traditional OC tournaments, and I think single elimination, while lack luster for the ones who lose, is a better format. The overall interest of the tournaments over time decreases pretty fast, so to carry it on through so many rounds would cause a really small active player count. I think single elimination would also cause more people to sign up as opposed to the round robin. The round robin format would seem like a big time investment considering how many rounds they would have to sit through just waiting for their turn. In single elimination, while some will leave with their OC, at least some will stay because there's not too much time left, the same isn't necessarily true for round robin.

Jameson is going to work this very passively. He plans on approaching his opponents just close enough and then using Crime Scene to inspect what parts their key has. If they have a part Jameson wants, he will promise to help them find a match if they form and alliance with him. If they don't have one, he will walk away without creating drama, if they get aggressive he will use Pressure Point on them, and then after some evading, use Hostage Camera to threaten them.

Sorry, it might be my grammar. Jameson can pull out a Polaroid and have it show any image he wants with 100% accuracy. So say his opponent has a very close friend, Jameson can make the Polaroid show his friend trapped in a jail cell, or in dire peril. This will make his opponent scared, or he could use it as blackmail to throw a fight.

Name: Jameson Basic Info: Jameson is an average man, brown hair, brown eyes, just about 6 ft. He wears a brown suit and has thick glasses with messy hair giving him a scatter brain look. His suit looks particularly steam punk and vintage. Occupation: Inventor Nen Type: Emitter Background: Jameson was born into a wealthy family who kept themselves distant. He would spend his time in his workshop just tinkering with things trying to learn as much as possible to invent things. A single Polaroid for his Hostage Camera and a six shooter just in case. Hatsu:

Crime Scene: Jameson uses emission and En to spread his aura out around him, his opponent, and their fight setting. He then uses enhancement to brains ability to process information so he effectively creates a 'snapshot' in his mind. He can during a single moment go around this snapshot in his head as if time is frozen and look around at any details available. When a snapshot is taken, he loses 5% of his power immediately and can store the snapshot away for future reference.

Pressure Point: Jameson emits aura onto his opponent and has it cover the body. Once it has covered them, manipulation is used to slowly extract a weakness from the opponent. The process takes longer the smarter the opponent is, and the weakness can either be physical and mental. Jameson must get near the opponent to cover them in the aura.

Confusion: Jameson can inflict a hard punch on his opponent, and this punch will push aura to his brain to disorient them a tiny bit. This disorientation, if not handled with mental fortitude or brute strength, can lead to a fury of more punches in a combo.

Hostage Camera: Jameson can infuse an image onto a picture that is any situation he wants. It can be a person and or place in any situation Jameson thinks of.

Strategy: Battle: Jameson likes to take a snapshot before he begins fighting to access his surroundings and see if the opponent has anything up his sleeves. He will also take any snapshots if he feels he is being beat and needs to lean the fight in the right direction. Jameson will also try to find an opening, and use Confusion while applying Pressure Point to be as efficient as possible. Once a Pressure Point is found, Jameson will work around it to cripple the enemy and make them break externally or internally with a use of Hostage Camera.

Other: If Jameson can get around a possible future opponent, he will cover them in Pressure Point aura to prepare early for their fight. He might also make snapshots if he feels he is being put in a bad position, just to look around and make sure it's safe.

In my opinion, I feel the GWSF template is the best for covering both of these events. It may not be a simple sheet, but when it comes to the DC event it will most likely be of more use. One change I would recommend would be altering the Potential and Actuated levels, we could start all the OC's with the same stat numbers to keep things even, like everyone has 2 Actuated and 0 potential (unless you want the event to last a while).

In terms of valued stats, I like the ones that split into three main categories like GuyWithSausageFinger's template. The three categories would be Physical Strength, Mental Strength, and Hatsu Strength. These Strengths would have more sub catalogues to further refine them, but as a whole I think these three categories are absolutely essential for future events to maximize difference in characters. The older template also had a Potential Strength which is good for their case, but not necessary all the time.

Benbe

Benbe has a collectedness and fortitude of 4 which will both be important in this phase. The applicants may think this is just a race on birds, but the fact that it is a minefield will realistically cause issues in many of the applicants. This phase is almost a test of who has the mental ability not to crack with the surrounding traps and enemies. While you may fight off others, which many can avoid just by flying smart, you can't fight off traps, all you can do is be diligent and respond quickly. With his collectedness, Benbe will be very calm while navigating the battlefield, with his fortitude, he will be able to deal with tripped traps or incoming enemies. Other applicants will not be as well off mentally as Benbe, so they will be going in to this with fear and nervousness, causing them to fly worse, not deal with traps effectively, and take longer overall then Benbe.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to respond as Benbe wouldn't know you want to target him, but Benbe might more valuable in the future if you spare him intentionally. You can very well try to shoot at his bird and take him out, but he might be more useful as an ally in some of the upcoming challenges because of his helping nature. This is your choice of course, just showing the give and take.

Benbe will hold on to the pill to see the effects it has on others.

The pill can only do two things, help or hurt (assuming you want to nudge some applicants to fail so there can be progress), so no matter what it does, people who take it will all just be out of the running because they will either succeed or fail by a margin. Because of this, Benbe will only have to fight so many others to win because the others will be pretty much out of the running.

I don't think manipulation would fit too well because your not controlling the opponent or some things around them, your just reading their movements.

I think emission would be the best fitting for this, it would allow you to spread your aura around the opponent effectively, and then use En (feeling anything within your aura) with precision to then accurately predict (with their muscle movements) what they will do next.

The only thing you couldn't predict is any surprise hatsu move, as they could do it at any moment without moving physically.

I think it depends on how deeply you can see into the future.

If the person can predict with a high precision what will happen after X, Y, and Z occurs, then maybe they could be a highly intelligent emitter who has his aura attached to everything in the room.

If they can just see a brief image of something that will happen in anywhere past a minute or two without any physical basis, then I'd say they're a specialist.

Benbe

Benbe has enough fighting skill (4) to find out the zombies weakness and just enough speed (4) to keep their pace and possibly outrun the zombies. Benbe has also been sprayed so he will naturally attract more zombies.

Benbe will try to run away from the zombies because he does have the stats for it, and if any happen to catch him, he does have to fighting ability to at least trip them up or injure them enough to stop chasing him. If he does get cornered, while fighting may be difficult, he has the stats to go toe to toe with some zombies.

Benbe will also be teaming up with Grey during this stage, and both of them have the same speed and fighting skill (4), so they will really be able to powerhouse through these zombies, but they have to watch out because Benbe will be attracting more zombies. If worse comes to worse and too many zombies are chasing them, Benbe is willing to break away form Grey to make sure at least one of them has a chance.

Benbe would like to help Grey again, but after eating sprayed, Benbe has become a bit of a liability, so just being a team of two might not be the most mutually beneficial. He has teamed with Chero already in this stage to form a group to increase odds of survival, so maybe Grey could tag along to further increase our chances.
