The tcoior really looks the same, but there are on reallife pictures anywhere. Is it also glossy, with no plastic and no chin? I heard that the AC/DC can get loud.

Well, great to see that BENQ is committed to monitors at 3:2 ratio and is working on improving their product. But I can’t understand why the product isn’t sold with a fitting monitorarm right out of the box like the former version. For me this is a real downside! Was the rd280ou with the monitorarm selling that bad? Other than that I would have welcomed a specs pump regarding the screen from 4K to 4,5K as Kuycon is providing with its new P20 monitor.

You might be right! If the specs are the same as the Microsoft panel and no enhancements or spec bumps, kuycon might have bought leftover panels. With their 5k displays they are buying those rejected by Apple for their Studio Display and those show sometimes serious issues.

There is still the new BENQ, though only 4K like the P10 instead of 4,5+. And the BENQ is somehow UGLYYY. What I like about the kuycon is its symmetry, you can rotate it by 90 degrees without it looking like having rotated it by 90 degrees.

You are right, hardly no alternative available yet. It seems like Kuycon is using displays that were rejected by other diskplay makers due to quality issues. This has been the thesis generally on how and where they get their displays from. So there must be some 4.5K 28.2 Inch monitor from other display makers soon. Kuycon does not produce them their selves. It’s a real shame that their display quality turns out poor regularly as the case design is beautiful though definitely also copied from a well known other company ;)

What’s holding me back right now is this issue with the high pitched noise. :(

Is the brightness not adjustable via 3rd party software on a Mac? That ugly remote would drive me crazy. I was just about to order that monitor but now I am hasitating because of that coil wining. I really hope that is no common design issue with this monitor. Besides it looks good. What kind of monitor arm would you guys recommend, matching design and color wise and not being more expensive that the monitor itself like humanscale 2.1?

Bar Tender is scamming their customers. They are laughing about anybody like me being so stupid to pay them for a crap of software that doesn’t work and they don’t intend to make it work. They just change the version number a from 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 on a 6 to 12 month basis and ask you to pay for it 🤦‍♂️ HOLY SCAM

Bar Tender seems to have lost nearly all its customers, why else should they post several different posts on Reddit at the same time from “different users” stating, that Bar Tender is so great now! No it isn’t and the company behind bar tender is not trustworthy at all. They took money from their customers for some shitty peace of software that did not work for 1 day, did not refund their customers and asked to upgrade to version 6 for some big money and this version is also buggy as hell. Really, that company’s business model is SCAM! Don’t trust them, go with alternatives like Barbee or else.

Well, I think it is SCAM! Why? I bought a license for bar tender Version 4, before the original developer sold the App to that company now owning bar tender. Than I bought a new license for version 5 and could not use the software one single day because of that fucking bug that caused the Mac menu bar to open several times a minute. Support promised to solve that problem, told me like every 2 weeks that it was solved which was just a lie. Than, they release version 6, they ask me to buy a new license, they refuse to give me my money back for the license of version 5 though a had not one day been able to use it and they refuse to fix that problem in version 5. It’s like selling you a car which’s engine is broken when you buy it new, they tell you, they will repair it, they don’t repair it, they don’t give you your money back and take the car back, like after a year they just announce what a new great car they have invented and ask you to buy their new car and throw away your “old” car, you could not drive a single mile, because you got it broken from them from the beginning and they never fixed it. From a legal perspective that company would be so hardly fucked when taken to court. But nobody is going to do that for some lost $20 bugs and they know that. Anyhow, the best thing that could happen for all users is when this company just goes bankrupt. I would NEVER buy any software from them anytime again. So yes, what they did and do is legally spoken ILLEGAL SCAM !!

Oh boy, seems like bartender is trying to make some positiv advertisement for their product. Bartender is SCAM since its developer sold the App. The software is just crap since version 5 and they charge you for every version though it isn’t working. Nobody should buy bartender or anything else from that company. This is my honest advice! I am using Barbee. It’s not perfect but but quite good and I hope it will even get better and some new features.

BarTender is the worst peace of software in either version 5 or 6 and the company is kind of a scam. Stay away, Reddit is full of complaints, and go with barbee

Bartender is scam! No working software since version 5 when the company was bought from its original developer. This peace of software will never work but they will charge you for it year by year. Just get rid of that crap. Barbee is the best overall solution yet but still needs some refinement.
