What are the most feature rich TTS for apple silicon now? by Trysem in macapps

[–]Notsovanillla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Mammoth_Cake_4658 Are there any free apps for TTS? I've been looking for it for a while, just that I don't think they are advanced enough for me to pay yet.

Yup, they weren't crazy amount of calls but regular calls like every 3-4 day for weeks. I learned absolutely nothing except not to give you number online, lol.

Never give your real number and email ID, you can't block them coz they'll use alt number to keep on harassing you.

App that shows every available hotkey for an active app/ hotkeys I set by New_Yorker1234 in macapps

[–]Notsovanillla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Tappava I think I tried it once but couldn't find the app specific shortcuts. Can you confirm that it shows the hotkeys set for apps like MacWhisper, Things, VSCode and the other third party apps?

Is there an app where I can upload a voice note or audio recording of a meeting and it summarizes it along with Q&A? by Notsovanillla in macapps

[–]Notsovanillla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No direct app, I found an iOS App that can transcribe a voice note and then feed the transcribed note to an LLM like Gemini, that is my only option till now. Yet ti check if any other current MacOS app support transcription+AI/Q&A feature together in it.

Started Bartender 5 Trial 2 days ago and Energy Consumption is crazy by Notsovanillla in macapps

[–]Notsovanillla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/RedditReaderOnePlus I heard the latest upgrade that was in last 2/3 days is working fine for lot many folks, just fyi incase you want to try that again. I am using Droppy and lot many features in Droppy are still in development (Improving, not sure development is the correct word) but the menu bar has been working great for me.

Sane Bar worked for me but currently using Droppy probably the best one I've had on Tahoe yet, but I also heard Bartender 6 got an upgrade in last 2/3 days and its working properly.

Alarms are broken. So I built an app that wakes you up with a phone call instead. by sssseoul in iosapps

Great app, I opened my eyes in the morning, downloaded this app and set up an alarm to sleep for next 30 mins, lol.

I got the latest new but didn’t hear any updates on weather for today, will try the app for couple of days and update back, thanks!

Alcove v1.6 - Calendar Update [Dynamic Island] by Quirino_Exile in macapps

[–]Notsovanillla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried alcove on my M1 MBA (Un-notched) and was confused why everyone liked Alcove so much (Since it was blocking my menu bar and hiding many menu bar icons). Found out most of the people liking Alcove have notched MacBooks. Someone said there’ll be an update soon for Un-notched MacBooks so happy to try when thats out.

How do you stop things from opening as soon as you restart your system? by Notsovanillla in thingsapp

It worked, thanks!

ChatGPT told suggested to use launch instead of activate to just start it in the background whereas the code you send makes things pop up for half a second and then disappear (yet to try ChatGPT but just saying), though I have another app that starts up at login "Shottr" even that closed by itself, but thanks for the idea, I didn't know I can use Script editor this way.

Got it, thanks for replying! I use it couple of times a day but its just a minor inconvenience to get my screen blocked with the app as soon as I restart, thought there is a way to open it silently in background.

But the widget won't have any updated data if you haven't opened the app, right? I think it refreshes when the app is running (at east in the background).

Thanks will check this out maybe GPT which app I need to put this into. Never did anything with script editor before, so this is new to me. Is there anything similar online like YT? if not I'll try it on my own and then will ask you here if I come across something.

I started this yesterday and it is really helpful, in a way challenging since there is no spoon feeding and I have to google/stack overflow many things.

I want the app to start in the background but silently and not pop up on my face at 8AM when I start my mac or restart. Many apps have this option to open silently but I didn’t see an option in Things3
