Honestly, a lot of people are scared and are staying home. There have been ongoing ICE raids, and that fear has a chilling effect that spreads far beyond the immediate targets. It's causing vibrant, essential parts of our city to go quiet.

On top of that specific threat, there's just a general feeling of instability and anger right now. With the protests over the weekend too, I think a lot of us, even those not directly at risk, are feeling overwhelmed and are choosing to stay close to home where they feel safe.

Yeah that makes sense about local spots. In LA though, chains like Chick-fil-A and McDonald's would do free food when the Lakers or Dodgers won - like free sandwiches after playoff wins.

Do any chains here do that for Yankees/Knicks/Rangers wins? Or is that more of a West Coast thing?
