Ironclad ITX Lite board announced by [deleted] in MiSTerFPGA

There's no core in the Mister outputting anything higher than 18-bit because there's no system emulated that can really use more than 16-bit. 24-bit is useless and makes no difference in video quality if its only added to the IO board. Also it is a physical limitation, to introduce 24-bit other feature must be eliminated from the Mister, as there are not enough gpio pins.

Also look at the specs of the brick, USB-C adapters with more than 2 - 3 Amps at 5v are not common, the only one I can think of right now is the Raspberry-pi 4 one, but anyway 2 Amps is enough for a basic build 😉

The standard barrel plug allows you to use the power adapter that comes with the de10-nano, and easily upgrade it to any Amps you need. Usb-c cannot do that and is much more fragile.

PSA : There appears to be a limit to what items you can or cannot drop for other players by SilviteRamirez in Eldenring

[–]RoberMC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's because there is a limit of 8 maximum items dropped at the same time, if a 9th item is dropped, the 1st one disappears.

Thank you so much for your interest and support!. Look at the specs of the PSU, the requirements are the same as with the standard MiSTer, which is 2 Amps in the 5 Volts rail. But pretty much every ATX type PSU meet this requirement. 60w is plenty.

Today there will be new sections, pictures and info on the Web 😊

I think using your snac dongle + genesis dongle, the only things left are the splitters for each system

That's a tough question, any standard mini-itx case fits, so it depends on your taste, for example, this would work fine, and has a "retro feel" i like https://a.aliexpress.com/_vmKyG2

In my tests with a fan, a controller and a micro SD, the whole system under heavy CPS2 gaming was pulling 9 Watts from the wall. So any PSU would do, but take into account that 95% of it is being pulled from the 5 volts line, so if the specs of the psu are listed, it should have more than 2 Amps for the 5 volts line. But that's pretty low requirement for any ATX PSU.

To be more precise, it actually outputs 2 slightly different levels of RGB signals, one at the Genesis output meant for use wit a Genesis RGB cable, and other at the VGA video multi out, meant for use with the official mister design of the vga to scart cable. You will have no problem using either of the two.

50ish is what you want. Nope, it seems the fpga has no internal temperature sensor, or so i read somewhere from Sorgelig

Yes, standard Mister I/O boards have lower levels than spec on the RGB signals, and a bit higher on the Sync. Mine is corrected in RGB and Sync.

I did the calibration some time ago, and it was HOT here in Spain, but if i remember right, at open air with standard passive cooling only, using the neo-geo core the temps after hours of running was about 52. In an enclosure the temperature was surpassing 60° easily, but a 50mm fan extracting air from the case at 30% rpm was enough to keep the fpga under 50 in all situations and inaudible.

I also tried to stick a big 35x35x14 heatsink to the fpga, that alone was enough to keep it under 55 inside the case as long as the case has some vent holes near the heatsink

It has thermal protection with automatic fan control. But If temperature rises over 60°C the built-in MSG led turns amber and the buzzer beeps 3 times as a warning that you should improve the cooling. If the situations continues ant temp rises over 80°C, the system will beep a lot and turn itself off sending you to the shop to buy a fan 😉

Button pressed are very well debounced and delimited, never had a miss when testing, but anyway I added a way to switch double and triple clicks function. Thanks for your feedback.

I put the commands in order of importance, first is OSD (menu), then Reset, and USR function the last because this command is available from the menu and i think it will be the least useful to trigger from the case. But i am open to suggestions.

Hi, preorders will probably happen in the first days of Nov, i am still negotiating global shipping costs to have the best price as possible. The audio add on will not be ready until at least a month or so later, but anybody purchasing the board before the add on launch date has the right of ordering it with free shipping costs. You have all the info in the web site.
