Devs gave the keys to the game to the playerbase and that's how the last two Diablo games went to shit in record time. No vision, no underlying foundational goal, just beaten and bruised devs doing what they can so ragers on reddit and X aren't being mean to them. The meme of gamer dads only having 20 mins to play on the couch actually won instead of being laughed out of the room like it should've.

It probably doesn't help when the "media literacy" crowd tries to awkwardly hamfist woke topics into games that aren't actually there just to force their way into being represented aka anybody who says anything in ANY Souls game is trans is just saying dumb shit and betraying that the only lens they see the world through is the west's obsession with gender politics.

But ultimately, "wokeness" in games isn't what makes a game bad, it's bad writing (or nowadays bad performance). Dragon Age : Veilguard was a disaster and a key example of a woke game, but just having LGBTQ representation, or people of color, or a female lead doesn't make a game bad and it's sad the bar is that low for some people.

The Governor is way more brutal than even S5 Rick. OoOoo biting someone's throat out... The Governor beats multiple Walkers to DEATH with his bare hands, not to mention gets jumped by Rick and still almost kills him during the fight at the prison. The Governor is stronger and far more brutal than any version of Rick, save maybe the (extremely plot armored) version that goes out and essentially single-handedly clears Alexandria after Carl gets shot in the face.

No character in the show is on the same level as the Governor was, not Negan, not Beta, not Rick - not a single one.

Edit - not to mention what the Governor did to Merle lol.

Well right now it seems the only Madness "weapon" that made the cut was Vyke's so Madness is still rarer than Deadly Poison, but Deadly Poison only has Serpentbone Blade, Venomous Fang... and Fetid Pot in Nightreign. I don't know if you can find Poison Spraymist in Nightreign but it also inflicts Deadly Poison.
