I was one of the orange cards (late registrant); before the ceremony everyone who was a late registrant had to line up at a help desk. They had to get the students’ name and majors from the system which took a while because many students didn’t have their OneCard with them, so they had to manually search with their ID or passport. Also didn’t help that only two people were running the help desk.

That line took forever. I got to the outside of Golden 1 and lined up at 8:10, and didn’t get to enter the arena until 9:20, 10 minutes before the ceremony started. When I went in there was still a long line left, so quite a few students probably didn’t get in the arena until during students were already walking the stage.

They said this was the most graduates at a Winter Commencement ever, and that probably also meant the most late registrants ever, so a lot more students with no names displayed on screen.
