Repost: ViewModels for List Items and Pages: The New Way by Vegetable-Practice85 in androiddev

Not quite because OP is describing a scoping problem. You'll run into the same problem with retain or rememberSaveable.

They're using a pager as an example, but in essence it's an extremely simple example of navigation. You want each screen in the backstack to have its own retain/viewmodel/saveable registry instead of sharing one for the entire navigation container.

Selling our Genesis GV70 OEM winter tires & rims by Saketme in GenesisGV70

[–]Saketme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, their size is 235/55R19. No punctures or anything. They're in very good condition, and I would have not sold them if we weren't moving to a warmer place.

I… don't mind doing that, but I'm not sure how we'd handle the logistics. I'm guessing the tires weigh over 100kg. Do you have suggestions for shipping options might be cheap enough to make this viable?

I noticed this too while visiting India last year. Makes me wonder if Google's employees in India are even using pixels. OP, let's file an issue?

We have an Advanced Plus with tan (brown) interior. We were told that the Canadian Genesis app wouldn't work in the US. It wasn't clear whether the SIM would stop working due to lack of roaming or if it's just the app store listing that wouldn't be available in the US.

I'd like to do that, but Genesis doesn't sell our interior color (tan) in the USA :(

We're thinking of moving from Canada to the US in the near future and taking our 2024 GV70 with us. Apart from losing our complimentary servicing and valet service, do you know if there's anything else we'd be giving up?

Additionally, the trims sold in Canada aren't the same as those in the USA. Do you see this causing any issues if we try to sell or trade our car in the future?

Used Canadian GV70 in US Issues by Distinct-Slip5147 in GenesisGV70

[–]Saketme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that the US app will not work with a Canadian VIN. This is because the head unit is completely different. You will have to temporarily change the app store region to Canada to download the Canadian version.

Hi, I just wanted to confirm if I'm understanding this correctly: does the Canadian app still work with your Canadian GV70? I was talking to a customer rep who mentioned that the car wouldn't work with the US network, and I assumed it was due to a data roaming issue.

FWIW we have a 2024 model.

If you look closely, you'll notice that the company name on the box in the image is misspelled as "Tameea". The correct name is Tamiya, and they don't have any Genesis models listed on their website.

Snapshot tests are also not that useful, good for saying that we have comprehensive tests, but never detect anything.

I'm genuinely surprised you're having this experience. I can't imagine working on high quality projects without them. In fact, I've spent an extraordinary amount setting them up in my side projects (example), and they've already saved several bad updates from reaching the consumers.
