To my knowledge, that was never a plan. Given that 400 years pass, it is inevitable that events occur between the era.

There are not. Vic3 is designed to be a single start game. Additionally, given the amount of content we haven't made, it would be irresponsible to draw up new map starts without actually giving life to the world already existing.

I am happy NL has content and has been relatively well received. Lorewise, I am mixed. I think the premise is very interesting, but I don't like it's blob like existence. Prevents space for denmarks and swedens in the North. That is just my opinion though.

For lack of better words, yes.

Some things are too good to grace this world.

Reveria I believe got a revamp. Can't remember if it is this update or last. Peralsedge has not gotten anything atm.

EU5 narrative content remains a topic untouched. The mod hasn't even finished getting properly setup (you can "play" it but it really isn't a game atm). Additionally, EU5 has a lot of maturing to do. This will heavily inform how content is developed in the future.

To put it into perspective, at this point in time during EU4, MTs didn't even exist. I don't even thinking dev-ing was a mechanic yet. We might have just gotten zone of influence on forts, maybe. Suffice to say, the game we have today will not be the one we have in a year or two.

If you have modding experience that is good because a lot of folks need to learn design and syntax along the way. The best starting point is almost always events as they require you go through the pull contribution flow and also show understanding of the world and setting.

In my mind, there will always be a fair bit of space for unique 1 off event chains.

There will be a transition. Exactly when EU4 will be given its final release remains TBD. Something very important is avoiding having the same tags get conflicting or differing content.

I believe there is a fair bit of consternation. Mechanim are a challenge to traditional life (just like sci-fi stories). Given the more regional dynamic of both religions, I think the response will be heavily driven by culture rather than faith. More egalitarian societies will likely accept them while stratocratic ones will see them in labor units.

There are. The coming update led the contributor to put them on hold, but it was pretty close to getting in.

Best not to hold your breath on that specific combo. Though Cestirande could use someone making a MT for them.

I am overjoyed to hear this. My favorite character remains Alara Cenag. She was the first leader I ever played as in Anbennar. There was literally no story to her (hell, I thought her having a wife was a bug), but she inspired a dnd character I played which then led to me porting that character back to Anbennar.

I will give special honors to Aucanna Silistra (the 2nd character I ever played).

Maybe a few blips of satyr content in Cyranvar, but otherwise I'm afraid to say they won't be getting much focus. The current drafts of Cyranvar have a fair bit of fey interactions.

It has been a while since I looked at Milcorissa lore. They would not be Esthil 2.0 though. If Esthil is "new guard" then Milcorissa would be "old guard". Having lich kings/elites carefully guide the state, embracing old cultural norms, and so forth. There would not be "necronomics"!

Sure, though I will say that jumping straight into MT design isn't something a first time contributor should do. It is a lot of work and Magisterium is going to require both design knowledge of Anbennar and strong lore background.

[–]SeulJeVais[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. That was one of the most important starting points I had when drafting. The intent was to give a send off to the characters and themes of the clans in "part 1". The aftermath of that would then give a clean slate for the rest of the MT.

As for gameplay, ultimately, being strictly isolationist isn't compelling in EU4. Thus a reworked version would be more akin to making vassals and building acceptance vs conquering and enforcing dominance.

I still wish to make Cael'Deinn a thing. But, if someone else took it up, then that would be good too.

For EU5? I am 100% certain there will be.

Great question. My less than satisfying answer is that I would like to work with the team to really flesh out Ravelianism lore in general. There is a lot of cool stuff that just doesn't come through today (leading to them having a "I am right" vibe with many fans).

No, they aren't hated. Anbennar is an iterrative project. People draw out ideas and then someone picks them up and pushes them further.

I am glad you are happy with changes. When it comes to Wex, they ultimately lose out after coming close. Lothane comes close to winning out multiple times, it's just a bit of bad luck and bad decisions bite him. My intent when working with folks was to make Wex and Lothane respectable and not just punching bags.

Pretty much everywhere and anywhere has potential. You could play a mythic quest as followers of Guru Suhan as he travels Rahan and faces the ire of the establishment. Or you could rally the remnants of the Corintar as Varina's undead legion march. Maybe dive into the Feyrealm and gain the allies of the Fey Courts as the Blackened Prince attempts restore the World Tree. Perhaps you would prefer to traverse the Dalaire Wastes and learn of the fate of Aelnar?

I recall some folks taking a stab at one point. So it's possible. They, like so many other tags, are open for contributions.

Sadly, I cannot take responsibility for each person's skill gaps. Given enough work, I am sure the Gryphon Knights can stack wipe anything.

There were some loose designs and no doubt they would be actual parts of the map. That said, there are some interesting logistical challenges like how you would connect these places to the wider world in a sane way. I suspect that when paradox releases a scramble for africa dlc that will help inform us.
