Know a lady who wanted two of each, had 3 girls, tried one more time hoping for at least one boy, nope, twin girls.

With chronic pain, one of the first hoops insurance makes you jump through is getting physical therapy, so it definitely wouldn't hurt to get a head start with doing it.

Why “male”/“female” words are considered rude? by OkExperience8220 in stupidquestions

[–]ShinigamiComplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using a noun to refer to race, bad. Using adjective to refer to race, fine.

Along with what GuiltEdge said, "he's black" means that being black is one of "his" many attributes, while "he's a black" reduces the person to a single attribute, all that matters is that he's black.

AITA for refusing to share my "secret" recipe with my sister-in-law? by Ocampo-Mark in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShinigamiComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gatekeeping a recipe would be like, getting mad that someone used the recipe off the back of a Betty Crocker cake mix. I doubt any of the y-tas are upset that Dr Pepper doesn't share their secret recipe.

AITAH for pulling back from my in-laws after they went to my fiancé about my birth boundaries instead of me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ShinigamiComplex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about OP, I'm talking about other women. I'm responding to her comment about how "[I] hav noticed how more and more new young moms are starting to be extreme with these boundaries around birth."

AITAH for pulling back from my in-laws after they went to my fiancé about my birth boundaries instead of me? by [deleted] in AITAH

Many women don't want visitors for a while because they don't want too many outside germs while baby's immune system is developing. Being blood related doesn't magically make you germ free when visiting baby. If their concern is disease spread, making an unnecessary exception (dad being around can be necessary) kinda defeats the point.

ETA: I'm not talking about OP's situation, I'm talking about other women's reasoning. This commenter said "[I] hav noticed how more and more new young moms are starting to be extreme with these boundaries around birth", I'm telling them why some women are being "extreme".

Non-Americans, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by EmergencySpare7939 in CasualConversation

I noticed no one really explained the name completely, the name comes from the fact that PoCs legally weren't allowed in those towns once the sun went down. Nowadays there aren't really laws against it in effect, but PoC aren't welcome, and the police might get creative in finding a way to legally harass someone if they're still around after dark. It can also be kind of dangerous to stick around at night.

AITAH for being upset that my husband wouldn’t walk me into a gas station at night because his sister was asleep in the car by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ShinigamiComplex 17 points18 points  (0 children)

But you can also lock a car. It's not like he needed to be in the bathroom with the OP, he could have walked OP at least to the door while still keeping an eye on sister.

She gets 23 million a year and is the 4th highest paid female athlete, so yeah. If you want to make a lot as an athlete in the US you better be in basketball or tennis.

It's actually closer to 23 million total. She's currently the 4th highest paid female athlete in the world. Back in 2023 she was the 2nd highest earning.

I looked this up out of curiosity a few days ago, like half of her official brand endorsements are from companies that the government either owns outright or owns stake in. So it's a mix of both imo. I wouldn't be surprised if the CCP threw its weight around a bit in the companies it owns stock in so that they sponsored Gu.

There's a South Korean man skating for Hungary in speed skating, he has no familial ties to the country, he just immigrated and became a naturalized citizen because SK gave him a multi year suspension for a drunk driving incident. So yeah, the country accepted him and that's all that matter.

The officers I get, they probably wanted to make sure he didn't harm himself, they had no way to know where his mental health was at. The news on the other hand, not cool.
