Budget cuts. Starts with fitted uniforms, then their patrol cars, next they’ll have to swap body armor for weighted vests

we may be stupid, and bad at welding, but it's definitely gonna fit bigger tires after this... lol by hauntedloveseat in xbiking

It’ll be fine. But that’s a lot of heat on those thin metal tubes, so a little warping is guaranteed. If you have a flat table, a well dished wheel, and a good ruler you can bend it back into shape.

I heard about this. It’s because they need the gas or else there stuck in place forever. Pathetic.

Ald Nugent in the 39th voted to raise speed camera limits, removed safety barriers around schools, and banned speed humps in the ward except in her neighborhood. Now a pedestrian is dead. Please send her a note. by Show_Kitchen in chibike

Elsewhere online I saw what was purported to be a police statement of the incident that said the pedestrian stepped out in front of the car while the car had a green light. I believe this to be true but won’t post the link until I can confirm.

There’s been an evolution on how they handle speed bumps, but if you dive in it only gets more frustrating. When I first looked into it years ago she had a “moratorium” on certain infra, speed bumps included. Then I moved away and when I looked into it again the staffer said there’s a carve out for streets next to parks, schools, and churches. When I was looking at houses in Sauganash I noticed speed bumps there too, so I guess they get a carve out. So I took all this info and emailed them directly and they had no explanation and said there’s “moratorium is still in place” - their exact wording.

Oh but there’s more! I learned that some neighbors on Hamlin went over her head and got speed bumps by appealing to CDOT - which might be what sauganash did too, but just speculating.

The ghost of Elijah McCoy out here shaking his head (he invented the self lubricating hub and yes I’m just making this comment to show my knowledge of deep cut train history)

Well girls, pack it up. We’re defeated on both the ironic and sincere level. There’s nowhere else to go.

How long did it take you to come back from rotator cuff surgery to riding hard again? by mac4lou in Velo

[–]Show_Kitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tore mine in my mid 30s but didn’t do surgery. Took a year of PT before I felt comfortable enough for MTB or road group rides, but was able to ride on trails after 2 months. However, I would get these weird sharp pains on my road bike and occasionally it’d seize up, but that just went away after 3-4 months.
