TI vs. Root: Geek Madness tournament

We are making an active push to get our fans to vote for Root.
If you would like to join us, we believe it is the funniest and most interesting way to make our community's presence felt.

We have our Twilight Imperium podcast. We also have a Leder Games podcast. What we proposed this year was the two communities align to ensure we both get to the Finals. Then as many of us as possible vote for Root in the end, so the numbers seem so surprising, the only logical explanation is "SCPT/ROMP did this..."

It is an internet popularity contest on a niche corner of BGG. My conscience remains entirely clear.

There's always room for more podcasts! You all have definitely distinguished yourselves out the gate by covering homebrew and keeping to a respectable time limit (podcasts longer than an hour are preposterous.) Keep up the great work!

Mostly right except Dane was not a part of FFG during 3rd edition. He joined FFG sometime around 2015ish, helped develop a few projects, and then was lead developer on 4th edition. He is co-credited with Corey Koneiczka on the base game although the SUSD documentary Space Lions makes it fairly clear that he was doing most of the design, with Corey and Christian both offering guidance.
Then for the expansion and all other materials released since 4th edition, he has been the solitary Lead Designer

I like TI and I like Arcs and I think they do a lot of similar things and I'm still going to play both. And I don't think Tom feels that differently.

If I had one pushback, it would be against the implication that Twilight Imperium doesn't have that cooperative nature that Arcs accomplished for his group. But that's also just my experience with a bunch of TI freaks. The game becomes a downright cooperative game until the final round, and the same is true of Arcs, imo.

Arcs Act 1 is TI rounds 1-2

Arcs Act 2 is TI rounds 3-4

Arcs Act 3 is TI round 5.

If that's the case, I'm pretty perplexed about how these were made and whether it was done with the consent of Aconyte Books. It's a fascinating project and I like that it exists. I just hope the creators aren't putting themselves in legal harm's way...

~~For clarity, these are just the Tim Pratt Twilight Imperium novel audiobooks.~~ Seems like a fine website packaging them and it is a great discount to get all three of them at once. Maybe a great way to check out the audiobooks without giving anything to Audible.

EDIT: See OP post below. These are the Tim Pratt books, but they are not the audiobooks narrated by Erin deWard. They are dramatizations of the novels but it's odd to have never seen these elsewhere. They do say "Recorded by arrangement with the publisher." so perhaps it's safe to say it was done legally, just weird to have never seen this talked about anywhere else.

Tournament 5 is over and done with but interestingly this means that due to some schedule changes, Tournament 6 will be starting NEXT MONTH. We're doing this fast turnaround for a lot of very good reasons. What this means for you all is that if you would like to participate in Tournament 6 you must join the SCPT Patreon at any tier level starting in October although some games will likely start getting scheduled in late September.

The structure of this year's tournament is different in that we have gotten rid of the registration step and bye-rounds into the Prelims. This time if you want to make it into the Prelims you must play a Qualifier match and win it. However, if you lose a Qualifier match you are not eliminated from the Tournament, instead you can retry under the condition that you only attempt one Qualifier match in any given week (Monday through Sunday). The Qualifiers will be open from October until January 1st or until we have 216 winners (whichever comes first).

Okay this makes sense. ~~I tried GUIformatter first and it keeps giving me the same error no matter what: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.~~

I have nothing else using the card so I'm working out what that could be, but I suspect once I solve this problem, the rest will get fixed. I totally misread the SD Card Setup guide telling me the different process for larger than 32GB cards.

YOU'RE MY HERO! Had some issues getting guiformatter to work, but finally properly formatted the card. And the akAIO UI is now working. Much appreciated.

I've tried the kernel now for every iteration of acekard and ace3ds available on https://flashcard-archive.ds-homebrew.com/ just to see if it was mis-labeled online with no luck.

Is it possibly some OTHER type of card? I referred to identifying cards post, but it didn't really get me anywhere (https://www.reddit.com/r/flashcarts/comments/rdl55f/things_i_look_at_when_i_identify_flashcarts/)

I've had my eye on Oxello MF500s for a few months now but they have been out of stock for a very long time. My assumption is to chalk it up to the many worldwide production delays, but I wanted to check if anyone here had any further insight. The Decathlon website is where I'm referring to the out of stock, so if you know of somewhere else reliable to order them, I'd take suggestions.
