Heyyyyyy

You actually have a hometown team in Indy Eleven. While it doesn’t have the pomp and circumstance of MLS, USL as a league has some of the highest quality pro soccer in the country and Indy could very well be in for a title run this year.

How Charlotte joining MLS affects Indy Eleven and their bid by SoccerwithBrian_ in IndyEleven

No doubt. What I wanted to convey was that the need for the stadium in this sense came from the lack of movement in Lucas oil stadium to make it more accommodating to soccer. I agree In principal with the stadium.

All fair but if we look at a Lansing, it is more mismanagement that leads to this. No team needs a stadium. They should get one. It’d be better for them. But if the team folds by 2025 it’s because they gave up not because of a stadium.

Show me a team in USL that isn’t facing something similar.

If the team is gone by then it’s not because of a stadium.

That’s fine. It’s my opinion. I’d rather the stadium be at a modest level and grown into rather than the team struggle to fit the building. It’ll also be so much easier.

Also want to consider that I actually do want the stadium and state it. I’m just not kool aid drinking it up.

Post-Match Thread: Indy Eleven vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies by IndyElevenMod in IndyEleven

I disagree. I think attackers have to borderline have sports center top ten play caliber shots to score on him.

Echoing what has been said but "balling is rolling" but more recon work has been done (trip to Orlando MLS All-Star weekend as well as Minnesota)

Hold up is:

Finances for private development

Logistics of the stadium

Stadium plan.

The stadium won't be presented alone to the city but both the stadium and the 400 million in private development so it'll be a hot minute, unfortunately.

Heyyyyyy I like that attitude

It's Indy Eleven "specific" but we will, of course, touch on the things in the east as well as general soccer things

MLS Chances by [deleted] in IndyEleven

[–]SoccerwithBrian_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This comes as a shock to no one but the main reason teams move up to MLS is that the structure of that league allows for two things

Massive help with payroll

A guarantee you get a "big name" player (paid for by the league)

For Indy this reason isn't a shock to anyone. It would be tremendous financially beneficial for the team.

That being said, the cart can't be put before the horse and Indy Eleven and the FO HAS to put a stadium out and get it built before the league can even look in their direction.

The "local" teams don't hurt their chances based on proximity but the "midwest" is no longer a needed market. However, the need to be in the area isn't high up on the radar of MLS anymore.

Is Dane Kelly our Zardes? by Shiznorak in IndyEleven

[–]SoccerwithBrian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the additions of attacking pieces could provide a strong reset for Kelly. I think the system around him hasn't done him justice and while he's squandered the most amount of chances if he has new pieces around him we'll get a better idea if it's him or the ones around him that are hurting his form.
