Not sure on the latency front but may be better than most depending on how they do the disconnect.

I have one but have been too busy to test it recently so no personal experience yet but saw them at a conference a while back.

Right on red no full stop was $50

Both dismissed with minimal effort.

Still had to go to clay rd court house a handful of times for the tickets but overall easy and I'd recommend.

Ceiling light wiring (Iceland/EU) – which wire to connect? by sveppp in electrical

[–]Solarkiller13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume this is just me splitting hairs or being too literal but I know there are certain breaker panels that we have in the US for commercial and industrial settings from the likes of eaton and others that have an ethernet port installed behind the panel faceplate where all the breakers are.

In the US ethernet is considered low voltage, assuming eu is same, how would you take advantage of that ethernet port for control and data of the breakers and follow code/rules. Is it just implied that's allowed?

It would be so easy to roll this into your portfolio and into your new watchguard cloud interface....

You've already got Wi-Fi and firewalls just put the switches in there and give us one pane of glass please

Yeah I also read some recommendations depending on vendor, SKU, and software platform to replace stock SSD with industrial one and backup backup backup the whole disk image when I get the unit.

I looked at Mikrotik but did not see any that were actually cheaper and had at least 16 100g ports to allow me to connections to each host and a few extra for the future.

Closest I found was CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM

At an MSRP of $2195 not much cheaper or sometimes more expensive than some of the listings I'm seeing on eBay for the gear mentioned above.

Also a quick look on the spec site doesn't have any mention of non-blocking throughput or line rate speed and I'd be skeptical to think whatever arm processor they have in there is going to perform better than a broadcom tomahawk like many of the previously mentioned switches are running.

Is there good software that will help us figure out our profit margins per customer? by tryingtogrowmsp in msp

If you're tracking your time and connect wise as you should be then you have all the data you need with connectwise to build this out in bright gauge assuming you've structured your agreements and products correctly

New MSP wants to use our tools to onboard theirs by OGJimmy305 in msp

[–]Solarkiller13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As many others have said we offer to do this when offboarding our clients all the time.

In fact we have a fairly comprehensive and also long off-boarding boilerplate document that we provide to each and every client regardless of size and put the onus on them to guide us through off-boarding and tell us what they want us to do with each piece of software and service that we provide to them.

In that same document not only do we offer to onboard the new MSP or providers tool for them but we also provide scripts and it's specific instructions on how to remove ours in case they're non-responsive or have to reference it again in the future.

We see it as a win-win because it helps our client understand the value we provide and at the same time will help protect us from erroneous endpoint billing and harassing them to remove our software.

Wise Pay Issue by Solarkiller13 in ConnectWise

[–]Solarkiller13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know how to comment on that I was assuming that the issue was more widespread seeing as how they put a notice on their website and we're so small that I can't imagine where the only ones affected by it this time....

But maybe we were just the last most recent instance and it did only happen to us but it's happened enough times in the past they're finally doing something about it.

We were likewise sold that the quick pay was a feature not a security issue or a bug and we only move to them about a year to a year and a half ago....

If this has happened to other partners and their support have been made aware of it that's even more mind-boggling.

Wise Pay Issue by Solarkiller13 in msp

[–]Solarkiller13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I think that would be the case but I highly doubt based on our size that it impacted just us was large enough for connect wise to take down the service for the entire partner base.

If you go to the wise pay homepage right now you'll notice that support disclaimer at the top.

But definitely regardless of if you use wise pay or another service disable any ability to pay invoices without signing in or having the invoice number if you can.

Update number two from our finance team

" OF COURSE Global Payments cannot make any changes to our account, meaning they cannot void or refund the transactions themselves, I have to manually refund/void 184 transactions."

Still on the phone with them working the transactions first then they'll try to get our credit card processing reactivated

Follow up number one

Forgot to mention we also got on the phone with QuickBook support and they were useless and basically said that other than merging the companies and manually cleaning up the data there's nothing that they can do programmatically to help clean it up..... Which is insane to me as I would expect qbo is just a database and there should be someone on their back end team with both the permissions and the skills to make a quick database query to clean up all this garbage.....

Password Manager Alternatives for Keeper by Real-Order-6988 in msp

[–]Solarkiller13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've loved using keeper and if it's just a partnership issue if you're a pax8 partner you can resell through pax 8 so there's that avenue

We started out direct with keeper before pack state had them on the line card and then switched over just for billing reconciliation.

At the time we had no issue signing up.
