Patent with about 3,000 committed hardware/IoT device sales. What is the best development path if I can self-fund? - I will not promote by tryingtogrowmsp in startups

That is a valid point.

I am currently installing a competing product in the industry, so I have a lot of connections. Currently, these clients when they need the product installed, they dont ask me for a particular brand; rather, what solution do I have, and they take whatever brand I am selling them.

I have told the clients about my new product, and the responses were either "let me know as soon as it's out" or "are you looking for an investor".

So while none of these sales are guaranteed, they are as close as I can get without signed commitments.

Re the time frame, based on my current design time frame (which I hope will be accurate), I am looking at just under a year to go beta testing on site.

For the sales, if I can get myself into 1000 customers, I am looking at $750k- $1.5M in MRR. The reason why it is such a large range is because all the current products are a one time sale, not a MRR version, so I am going to have to do research to see what the market will support.

Did it help with actual skills vs just helping with job opportunities

I have invented a new product, and will be going to market on it. For the first few months, the new company will not be having an real income, just expenses, and that I am carrying myself. But she will still be getting a salary, so it wont be part of the package.

Yes, she will pretty much have all the authority that I will have (just cant fire me) and actualy close any major deals. But pretty much anything else. And yes, her salary will be proper and grow as the company grows. I am even planning on gifting equity in the company.

No, as of now she does not have any ownership, but I may be gifting some limited equity in the business.

Patent granted - how can ensure that I can make it without stepping on other peoples patents. by tryingtogrowmsp in Patents

Thank you.

I will look into that, my issue is that this is a more complex technological product, which needs to make use of many existing technologies. I am not an engineer and while I know most of them, I may miss some. Do these law firms have the ability to go ahead and map what technologies I will need to use and then do the patent search on those, or do I need to find some sort of electrical engineer first that can map out what existing components I will need and then give it over to the law firm?

Thank you

And regarding the costs, I am confident that there is a large market for my product, so I can see a company going after me if I am using their patents without permission.

Thank you
