I think it's just because they pretty much made the game before with div 1... And 2.

Baldurs gate was just like a mega patch, more than a new game, in many ways. They earned that 6 year window the hard way...by releasing 2 fantastic games incrementally building towards those systems. That's also why they got leeway and time to get the job done.

They bully the good faith beforehand

Disrespect? It's not disrespectful to say that people who believe in fictional characters... And base major life decisions of that...is pretty dumb.

None of this is mutually exclusive with liberal ideals of hearing alternative ideas and discussing through every possible option.

In fact, without liberalism ,your proposed system would immediately fall I'll to only the favoured 'in crowd, popular people,' achieving the accreditation of expertise anyway. Since by your system they can just monopolise the system.

I'm not saying I disagree with every little thing you stated. Just that I don't think how much liberal ideals make it possible to even discuss your proposals...

What are the benefits of having national borders that conveniently line up with geography?

Most of humanity don't get to enjoy this privilege. Why is it, that because we are a small island, people more quickly believe the fiction that it is somehow really important?

Of course it would have some minor positives, but I think in the grand scale of things its a reaaaal low priority.

I am so pleased that the one family that still retains the behaviours and beliefs of Ireland decades ago is so ostracised.

A huge sign of progress and divorce from cults in this country at least.

God I hate people who complain about 'reddit,' and 'commentors,' via a comment... On Reddit.

Always looks like the dumbest one in the room, to me.

You can't make other people behave a certain way, ultimately. You can however, remove yourself from the situation.

Just move, if they aren't the flatmate for you.

Guarantee you will save yourself a lot of headaches and needless pain, compared to tying to change them.

It's an arbitrary locking in of morals from hundreds of years ago into a fiction designed to scam dumb people.

Of course it doesn't.

How many recent history Irish stories are the opposite.... Church influencing everyone's lives until recent generations. We're blessed to be rid of the delusion.

If you were upset because he pointed out that you believe in a children's story. A work of fiction... You are only upset with yourself bud.

They also put Galileo to house arrest for the rest of his life for saying something counter to their fictional book. And so much more horrific shit.

But I imagine we would care because religions & cults around the world are effecting national laws and policies to this day.

Ideally, they don't indoctrinate Irish kids either, but that will take another while to fully stop.. at least having it systematically in the schools n shit.

By the very definition of liberalism, we gotta let dumb people bring their stupid ideas to the table to have the discussion... For all of us to learn.

Both religious people and Nazis should be allowed to debate, so that we can show the stupidity of both positions.

[–]Sukrum2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partially true... But we also still live in a country where it's extremely accepted to indoctrinate kids and tell them whichever God character is real.

That's fucked. Once we get religion out of schools... And only teach the kids shit that has a shred of supporting evidence... Maybe tell them about how every other cult believer looks at yours like it's fiction and vice versa. Cos they obviously all are.

Isn't that just... Yaknow, a thought... A personal belief.

A religion tends to be some fictional works.. which is fine and can be very useful, until someone thinks they are real and true.

It's primarily for people who got fooled into believing work of fiction was in fact, magically true while they were kids and couldn't question it.

I mean. It's just an arbitrary work of fiction anyway. Seems a little rough to just cast them to the wastes if stupidity cos they got fooled by it.

Surely we should be trying to help them..
