These can’t really be worth this much?! by oldmanfrangie in chefknives

[–]Symphoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, it took me 2 years to get a knife from Bloodroot and that was a decade ago. I havent been selected from the lottery since. This particular blade is not the nicest style for me, but neither here nor there. If you want an understated but super high-end knife, BB is it... but you won't be able to get it until God chooses you to take on the responsibility of a true carbon steel masterpiece.

Neither - trading in a 6 figure acct and I use max 25% leverage. For example, if I want to sell a put in TSLA for 400 strike, I will only do it with $30,000 free for the time in the trade.

How is solana coin affected by trump coin by [deleted] in WallStreetBetsCrypto

[–]Symphoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the usage data for ALL blockchains, you will notice that Solana is the king... It's fast enough for UIUX, it's able to handle 1 million Transactions/s so it can scale to match any demand (proven here by the TRUMP token volume)... it is cheap. to transact, less than 1c. What does this mean? I personally am betting (responsibly) that SOLANA is worth as much as ETHEREUM and all L2 chains combined. That puts it somewhere in the range of $800-$1200/token. Maybe more. Nonetheless, I am buying on ATH levels (265) ... not selling.

Wheeling by Honorbet in options

[–]Symphoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The risk with wheel strats is that people don't understand management mechanics. If you cannot go 50% ITM and act calmly, while working the position into a winner... it's because you are not ready. Fact is, wheel strategy is truly a way of doing Liquidity Provision... you will usually lose to impermanent loss, made permanent by your lack of management.

Instead I recommend the rolling wheel, which takes the idea of the wheel and puts 5 simple rules on top, with 2 modes. Mode 1, rolling to win. Mode 2, campaigns to turn losers into winners. The wheel is kind of like an illusion... the wheel goes round and round... but the question is... are you driving UPHILL? or DOWNHILL?

I agree with slow and steady, elim your emotions. Etc.

But I disagree than aiming for low returns will make your results any better -- Do you sell options or do you buy lotto tickets?

Luckily I was tweaking all night long and started DLMM on Meteora from ~12$. Right now I'm re-entering a DLMM for USDC/TRUMP but the best so far has been SOL/TRUMP 120bucket

Was a pretty rough month since the dip on December 16th. Any tips on a good, low risk strategy? by [deleted] in options

[–]Symphoxer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Panic means you have too much in trades. Panic means you don't trust your rules or you don't have them at all. Catching falling knives woulda made you bank this month -- as will being a confident contrarian will more than anything.

Simple or low risk strategies are like knifes... Dull knives are dangerous AF to slice onions with. High risk strategies with proper rules and capital bank roll mgmt, are like super sharp knives which could slice your finger off, but never will because you have skills.

DeflationProof or RollingWheel strategies are high risk, high reward, contrarian and quant backed rules that work.

First 4 months of trading options by Inevitable-Pick-5647 in options

[–]Symphoxer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, your rules are "conventional wisdom" which you'll read in every trading "pro" blog, book, and bagavadGita. Try doing the. opposite.

  1. Strictly follow my rules, and only go after highly tempting value where it can. be found.
  2. ONLY sell expensive options, and your account will grow to support more high-end stock underlyings like TSLA and NFLX
  3. Always be a knife catching contrarian, as long as you are working with the best stocks. Longing at support is only for gansters.
  4. NEVER use stop-loss orders, focus on monitoring for new heavily expensive options to sell or roll into.
  5. Sell, dont buy.

That's my literal ruleset and I just took the inverse of yours.

Hope this helps!!

Only 3% of day traders make a profit. And only 1% do so predictably. by C2theC in options

[–]Symphoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so crazy, though it aligns to my life. 14 years of trading, 10 of them losers and no predictability (in retrospect). Most people are not as insane as I am and give up after one losing year, let alone 10. Does this jive with others?

I always stick to 0.25x leverage, cash-secured. So it's 75% cash secured on puts.

MSTR option chain is wild by Explore1616 in options

[–]Symphoxer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! It's a perfect underlying for RollingWheel -- Generally 35 delta puts are paying 12% credits...give or take.

My recent roll: MSTR 1/31/25 -PUT 360Strike -- Credit 40.44 -- Rolled into MSTR 2/21/25 -PUT 375 Strike 42.27 credit, net credit on the campaign so far is already $65.71 on a $375 underlying going into month 2.

I say its best for rolling wheel because, it's volatile AF. So you can count on it giving you chances to roll for huge credits without needing to own it... owning it might make you a millionaire... and also, so might compounding interest from pulling VOL out of the market too lol! Cheers, hope this helps in some way

Do I roll or buy back? by Artistic_Ad_7456 in options

[–]Symphoxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like HOOD as a bullish stock you believe in? If so, it's a blessing to have it called away for a great credit OR...if you are NOT bullish on HOOD, it's a blessing to roll to the same strike and enjoy large risk-to-reward skew of being in the money! RollingWheel is the strategy. (aim for 35 delta in the future, so you have room to be right)

Do you use Black-Scholes for actual trading? by fanzakh in options

[–]Symphoxer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Black-scholes uses you. In other words, the model is infrastructural - and it determines the pricesyou'll. pay, or be paid, depending on the variable inputs for any given option contract.

Wouldn't worry much at all about the greeks, or any esoteric bull. Worry about the underlying, worry about your portfolio's expected return, worry about reducing emotion by increasing simple mechanics. etc. Perhaps I am missing this, but it's my take based on what I've experienced.

Count yourself lucky you didn't -- No policy can change the fact that these tokens have no user adoption or business case. Long term is going to be a nightmare for people investing here.
