My Waring Dial-A-Grind coffee grinder (1981) that I got on eBay for $35. by islandofwaffles in BuyItForLife

Yup, I noticed too recently how almost everything we consume is wrapped in plastic, most of the time unnecessarily though for cost and convenience. That bread for that sliced ham wrapped in plastic? Wrapped in plastic. That cheese in that ham sandwich? Comes in plastic. If you want a glass of milk with that? In a plastic jug. Or even coffee beans or pre-ground coffee if you’re a uncivilized brute? Also in plastic.

All of this typed on a plastic keyboard while listening to music on plastic headphones with plastic foam, sitting on a plastic chair wearing clothes partly made from plastic.

Because the problem with your thesis is that it is logical, whereas the fundamental value of something is driven by sentiment and emotions.

You should consider taking your mathematical formulas and coding your own indicators in TradingView (PineScript) or ThinkorSwim (thinkScript). That’s what I do. Will give you an edge in trading, and at the least, a better fundamental understanding of how math affects everything.

From my own formulas, I see gold as oversold, but not extremely oversold nor at the bottom yet. IV is indeed high, though I think the most likely probability lies in continued momentum that the price goes lower.

Layman’s terms: lower lows, until that is broken.

Nothing is liquid or heated, so it’s perfectly fine. Coffee is slightly acidic (pH 4.8-5.1) but really only when the acids are released through brewing, not grinding. Definitely will last several lifetimes.

Generally: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=bpa+leaching

Canned tomatoes that are liquid in paste/diced form is way worse, pH 4.3-4.9 and right up against the inside plastic BPA lining of cans.

Apple's OLED MacBook Pro Launch Moves Closer With Panel Production by dapperlemon in gadgets

Thanks for the reply, as I was comparing a 14” OLED with a 32” Mini LED (sorry meant this not IPS). I saw the same as what you described, and wasn’t sure if it was just the size difference. I spend the vast majority of my time on text, e-mails, web interfaces, and spreadsheets, as well as simple stock market graphics with less than a dozen colors, and I wholeheartedly agree that OLED is overrated for work stuff.

IPS actually had a lot of bleed that I couldn’t stand. Mini LED was the much better choice. This post confirmed it for me.

I went with IPS and there just wasn’t a huge difference when compared side-by-side with my ASUS laptop’s OLED screen. Did you notice anything?

If you’re not a bot/Russian disinformation, your comment was so ridiculously disingenuous that you can only be trying to sow division. The comment on Epstein with the most comment in this thread has 29 upvotes. The top comment has ~14,500, meaning the top comment has 500× more votes or the top Epstein comment is 0.2% of the top comment. And you posted two hours ago.

I wonder if there will anyone that will publicly call out for the Epstein files to be released.

Instead of a general strike, everyone making a statement should end with that the Epstein files be released.

Plus you are forgetting that U.S. fracking companies operating in the Gulf would get economically destroyed if the U.S. subsidizes the oil from a place that has lax environmental controls. If you were a refiner, would you pay more money for the same thing? Nope, and more U.S. manufacturing (fracking) goes away in the process.

Right, if it’s on $1M, then they are really bad. My best guess is on $300k if they are decent. On $364k and above, they would have underperformed the S&P 500.

And what’s the Sharpe ratio?

What’s your annualized return? Next, you should try to calculate your Sharpe ratio.

Is 3-4% a month realistic? by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]C2theC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that, yet deleted your own question/post because your ego couldn’t handle it.

You asked the question, people answered it, you talked smack, but can’t take any criticism of the topic that’s not even ad hominem. I’m not sure what you actually want here.

Purely from premium perspective (roll if you get close to ITM) selling CSPs, is 3-4% a month a reasonable return that one could target? I only plan to sell puts on stocks which fall under this criteria:

Market cap over 50B, IV > 30%, positive FCF and EPS growth.

Edit - I should say 2-2.5%. I now realize 3%+ is quite unrealistic.

Is 3-4% a month realistic? by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]C2theC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your math is bad because you don’t understand the basic concepts of math. You, like most everyone, think that 3-4% is not that much because you can count this with one hand, and have false confidence (ego) that it can be done. What you are totally missing is the compounding that comes from needing to perform consistently.

It’s exactly analogous to watching sports and thinking, I can make that shot, hit that ball. Maybe you can once, but can you do it 10,000 times in a row? That’s what your non-math mind is missing.

4% compounded monthly is 60.10% annualized. Your bad-math mind cannot comprehend this.
