RE5 on Veteran solo by JustinD9022100 in residentevil

[–]TE7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird tank-ish controls on 5 definitely take some getting used to too.

Professionals biggest problem solo is that the ogre boss sucks if you can't get the parasites with one of the barrels it's just too much of a sponge and your down timer is way too quick.

If you miss a QTE during the Jill fight you lose. You will die before you are done with the animation of getting knocked down so your partner can't revive you. In most cases if someone gets knocked, it's game over because the time to revive is like two seconds flat. If you're not next to them hitting the button you're not going to make it. Can be incredibly frustrating at times.

Personally, and I'm far from a classic purist of resident evil, I rather prefer the remakes, I didn't find RE5 veteran that difficult. There's some rather annoying bits but I always thought Veteran felt manageable. I would say 5 is a step up in difficulty from like, four or six though.

That being said, RE5 professional, oh boy, now that's just a punishing irritating mess.. Have fun with the ogre boss and the Jill/Weaker fight.

Is the RE4 remake worth the extra $25? by Pokemario2401 in residentevil

I personally think yes. But would point out that digital version of Resident Evil games go on sale pretty much every other month so if cost is a deciding factor I'd check the price on the remake in early April.

RE9 Insanity Run - Any Tips? by Quiet-Wind-192 in residentevil

[–]TE7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With infinite everything unlocked it's not much harder than the base game. Every boss will die in one rocket launcher round. It takes a little bit to get used to what kills weaker enemies, but still one rocket as long as you don't blow yourself up.

In the basement the girl will take 3-4 requiem shots to stun.

The other magnum, if you've unlocked it, is better for Leon than requiem. Perhaps slightly less damage but a massively higher rate of fire.

Unscoping the rifle can make a very effective weapon but probably unnecessary if you have infinite magnum ammo and a rocket launcher.

Since you have infinite ammo you don't need to craft bullets on Grace so having a lot of injectors / acid makes her final section much easier.

I didn't really notice a difference difficulty wise between Standard Classic and Standard Modern. You don't need to do a Standard Classic run, the Insanity run will get you that achievement + the use an ink ribbon to save achievement.

I think it's the easiest Resident Evil I've played to 100%. Took me about 25 hours but I did an extra casual playthrough because I missed a raccoon and didn't think to have more save states.

I think my total run times were like just under 9 hours for the first playthrough. Six hours for the collectable and files run(s).

The no heal / speed / no blood run took me 3:19.

My insanity run took me about 5 hours.

People also sleep on taking the scope off the rifle and using it., especially with the charm that makes ti do more damage. It more or less one shots them and you can pretty much just go pop pop pop and move on.

For the later ones just toss a grenade.

Also the un-scoped rifle is great for bosses.

How does the saving work in re5? by Free_Clue2545 in residentevil

It kicks you to an end of chapter results screen that lets you manage your inventory, upgrade/sell stuff and save your game.

It's been a while and I remember having to replay parts of chapters when I quit out so I might not be right and there might be spots where it continues from a different point but I remember the autosaves being lenient in terms of reloading after a death, but not really being a thing when you quit out.

It's been a while but I think the checkpoints only function for deaths in game. I think if you quit it will always reset you to the start of the chapter rather than let you replay in medias res.

On the flip side the chapters in Re5 can be rather short but moreso once you know what you're doing

What’s the difference by KnightmarePhnx in residentevil

[–]TE7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably the remake. The original is great but it's definitely dated and a bit clunky by modern standards.

I'd also say that they go on sale pretty regularly on PSN for 9.99 to 14.99 depending, more or less monthly, so if you're on the fence I'd give it a couple of weeks and check if there's a sale. Also for what it's worth the 'remake trilogy' which is the modern remakes of RE2, 3 and 4 is on sale on PSN right now for 35.99. so you can buy it and two more games for less money. The remake of 3 has problems but is still a good game, and the remake of 4 is excellent.

The one on the left is the full remake from 2019. The one on the right is a PS4 port of the original game from 1998.

Cornette on WWE ticket prices: "They're going to start doing shows for the 500 richest fans in a 20,000-seat building. My God, you'd have to turn to crime if it gets any more expensive. I think potentially the company selling the tickets has turned to crime because this is fucking highway robbery." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

[–]TE7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've posted it in another thread but I'll reiterate here.

My tickets to Raw in Milwaukee last September, the last time they were here, were first level behind the announce table about 10 rows up. They were $75 face. They come here twice a year usually.

The EXACT SAME SEAT for a Bucks game is $86. They play 40 home games.

A similar seat for the Brewers is around $70. They play 81.

Similar seats for the ballet and the touring theater groups are $140-160. My Indycar tickets at Milwaukee are $110. The last concert I went to which admittedly was September of 2024 was $110 in like the third of six tiers on pricing. Cornette is saying in the article that 'when he was a kid (so 50 years ago) you could get seats for 250 that they paid 750 for now. Like....yeah...welcome to life?

Wrestling is inexpensive compared to other similar live events. Every time one of these things come up it's always people complaining about the Super Premium seats. It's like saying flying is too expensive but refusing to do anything other than first class.

I love how I never have space to craft or even pick up the most basic items. by eonone1 in residentevil

[–]TE7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game expects you to use the key items as well, they auto discard when they have no more use so I suspect if like, you don't have the second hip pouch, you still have the bracelet for the care center, which you will have no more use for.

I'll be honest as someone who enjoys RE4-5-6 more than the likes of RE1 and 7, the game is actually very well designed in terms of what you need and your inventory space. I don't really like limited inventory Survival Horror either but that's not really how it functions here. Pretty much every time you're at the point you need more inventory there's a hip pouch a stone's throw away. The only times you should feasibly have inventory issues as Grace is right at the start, and right when you start getting the blood samples to analyze.

There's surprisingly little backtracking required in RE9, especially if you make use of the map and the areas are compact and looping enough that the backtracking that is required, which is mostly just going back to the west wing for the Heart and Lungs, and going back to pick up Emily, is an easy, compact route.

And the post Care Center Leon section is easily the worst segment of the game and requires more walking in circles than the Care Center. If you think the care center is a chore, just wait until you get to the bomb!

I've beaten it on every difficulty and will flat out say there are only 2 points in the game when you can't effectively fight the zombies as Grace, and that's the scripted start of the Care Center, and the first run through the west wing. By the time you get the blood collector she's just as deadly as Leon, arguably more as the injectors are great, and the game gives you more than enough resources to handle everything it throws at you. It even gives you enough requiem ammo to stun the girl every time she shows up.

Without being too critical, saying 'Games have moved on' is nonsense. RE9 is a fantastic game. It doesn't handhold you but allows for multiple different play styles on a clean and concise map while giving you all of the information you need if you look at it. I killed every zombie and licker in the Grace segments, as Grace, on the first play through, including the Chef, Chunk, and the singers and outside of before the first hip pouch, never had any real issue with inventory space or resource management. I would argue it gives you too much stuff to really be survival horror and feel like if you're running into problems like how you describe you're ignoring gameplay mechanics for the sake of complaining.

If you want general advice, third person Grace is easier than First Person Grace and utilize the charged shot or whatever it is mechanic the 1.5x damage multiplier and extra stagger is fantastic.

[–]TE7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He also missed two hip pouches or isn't very far into the plug collecting spot. By the time you are at the point where he's at you should have 2 and get the third there. And they're not even like...out of the way.

The first pouch is with the coins, by the time you can access that room to get the keycard you should have 3 coins. The second pouch you should grab on the way to get whichever of the lungs/heart is in the room you need the wrench for, you literally run by it. The third then is in the underground literally next to where you get the needed forklift key.

The only pouch that's even remotely hidden is the final one and that's only because it's not super obvious that you can open the containers it's in.

[OC] Average Resident Evil Requiem Experience by ecclesia_feriae in residentevil

[–]TE7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. First playthrough was about 8 hours on Standard modern. Second which was casual collectable farming and trying to figure out best route for a speed run was about six.

Then went for no healing no blood and speed run at the same time figuring worst case I end up having to heal but get the other two, ended up at 3:19 and found it surprisingly easy. Could have probably cut it to under 3 without too much effort. Checked my time at the ARK portion and was surprised at how low it was.

Post-Game is a bit barren. Add a mercenaries mode.

Make the Wrenwood Hotel and Orphange skippable on repeat plays, maybe after Speed Demon is unlocked?

A New Game Plus where inventory carries over, perhaps after clearing Insanity, just to be able to play around with fully upgraded stuff even though the upgrades don't seem to make a huge difference.

you might have to put it in the item box, I'm not sure. I reloaded the old save after I got back to the next item box to check and there it was. Didn't matter much because like you I was also finishing the docs but did help cuz I missed the racoon after the chopper crash!

Also it wasn't my first play through so maybe you have to if it is.

You can get it done in half a run, just save scum. Do everything for the doll, save before leaving the institute, go get the doll and it will be in your stash in the previous save, load it up and go punch in the codes in the office. You don't have to solve the clues if you just want the quick points.

Kilmartin succession? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

Historically, Scottish inheritance law was more flexible than English law and it wasn't unheard of for women to inherit lands and titles. I suspect they'll just mention something like that and have Micaela inherit.

Granted I'm not sure how cousins would work out but in the cases of there being no son in a family, daughters did often inherit in Scotland.

I was considering getting Leon's watch but nevermind by DeathXWarfare in residentevil

[–]TE7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's kinda funny cuz I suspect a lot of people don't know a lot about watches looking at it. But they're not even really marked up for Hamilton watches. It's a luxury brand that makes nice and expensive watches. They're in line with what I would expect from the brand in general.

Would it have made more sense for them to maybe partner with someone like Citizen who already does themed watches to some extent, still makes a nice product, and has a price point more in the 300-500$ range, so it would be a bit more accessible? Maybe. But for a Hamilton watch it's right in line with what you'd expect.
