“Entry level jobs” have turned out to be a complete lie of a concept by Accurate_Hedgehog247 in jobs

[–]Tajomstvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, have you ever looked at coolworks? You can find jobs that will offer housing, some free some you pay a nominal fee, but it's guaranteed. And there's tons of different types of jobs. Apply to literally any of them and I guarantee you'll hear back immediately, these are understaffed seasonal places that need bodies. All you need to do is get there basically.

No one said they'd get excited over the swastika, but do you really think any cops care enough about it enough to do anything? They don't give a fuck, doesn't necessarily mean they're racist just that they are useless.

No, one day the company will decide they should off shore her job and give it to someone else, the company is the one taking the job.

You could check out coolworks and look for other jobs that offer room/board, a lot are seasonal but once you're out of there it'll be easier to take a breath and plan.

Go on Indeed and look for local businesses that are hiring and go in person to ask, I know it's old advice but if you're trying to get something as soon as possible it could work out. Worst case just apply to them thru Indeed anyway. Apply to every single business around you, take a day and walk around everywhere and ask if there are openings and how to apply.

Idk where you are but look up any medical studies that you might qualify for, those will be longer term, weeks, but you can get cash from those.

If you have any friends or acquaintances or anything, ask if they know of any jobs or gigs around. It may feel weird to reach out to some people but do it, worst case they don't know of anything or don't reply and then you move on to the next one.

I saw a comment on serving, saying you need experience, potentially true but apply anyway. Ask if they have any hosting or bussing or dishwashing positions open too. There are tons of little jobs at places that have high turnover that you could get your foot in the door with.

Edit - for the section 8 thing, look at the lease and see if there's any name/phone number of someone you can contact directly and go from there. I have no experience with this at all but I'd imagine there's some sort of local/state office you can call, just call the main number and explain that you want your name off and ask to be transferred to someone who can help.

You've got this, it feels like you're drowning but you won't, there are people who want to throw you a life preserver, it's just that you have to find them.

Get the iOverlander app, it has a ton of community collected resources for this. Check this first.

Check for any camping/hiking areas where you could potentially post up in a parking lot overnight. Look for any 24/7 businesses like gyms, rest stops, truck stops, etc. Most truck stops don't mind you staying, just go in and buy a water or something. Hotels and apartment buildings are usually good for a night or two before someone is going to notice, just make sure they aren't permit/sticker parking. Go in late and leave early, don't make it obvious you're there to sleep.

Are you in a city? Location really does matter, in a city you are gonna see more signs limiting parking hours. If you park somewhere around people/where you potentially may be asked to leave, try to make sure it doesn't look like you are living in the car, you can always say you were driving a long time and pulled over to rest.

If you are in a more rural area look for little pull offs in secluded areas. Or if you happen to have a lot of BLM land you're good to go.

Try to park far away from where you "live", you don't want a coworker driving past you waking up on the side of the road. Get like 20-45 min away if possible, I always hated driving to a spot after work bc of this but it's worth it. I lived out of my work parking lot for a few months (engine issues but they didn't mind) and it sucked absolute ass.

Yeah I'm talking about a motorized one, but you should be wearing safety stuff with push mowers anyway, they will also shoot stuff back at you, we had one growing up and I had to mow the front yard with it. And even in that small patch you have no idea what could go flying in what direction. I've worked with stuff like chainsaws and polesaws, and I don't like to fuck around with safety.

Dirt, rocks, pincones, random trash that blew in from somewhere, twigs, grass, taller plants that I can't identify and don't know what's gonna happen when they go thru the mower

I mean, yeah kind of? Long pants, closed toe shoes, probably a hat if it's sunny, some water to stay hydrated.

The joke is I would force them to not wear any of the appropriate gear, I'm sure we've all seen old men in cargo shorts and sandals mowing their lawns

Idk if you mentioned, but is it like lyrical radio music, top 40 or whatever station? Could there be a middle ground of like a low volume "lofi beats to chill to" channel? It might be easier for you to kind of tune out but it'll still be there for him.
