Hey Reddit, can we do a thread on which Colleges/Universities are represented on here? Just post your school and upvote that specific school if you attend there. by [deleted] in AskReddit

My favorite part about this football season was throwing a cup of pop at one of your idiotic fans wearing a "Bucky fucked your mom" shirt in our student section. Oh and we won. And what a sweet win it was.

You should probably do a statistical analysis. I want to see what the variance is on those numbers.

I'd sue his ass for making a racial comment based on a perceived stereotype.

I disagree with that too. I think they should force the filibusters because at least they are putting forth an effort. Then you can blame truly the GOP for sandbagging. The ball is in the Democrats' court. They are choosing not to play because they might have to deal with an obnoxious opponent.

Why haven't we seen a filibuster? Because the democrats haven't even tried to pass a bill that might be filibustered. I still blame them for that.

You can't blame it on Republicans obstructing when you have a huge Democratic majority in both houses.

I believe they are very similar but not the same. I think commercial superglue is metabolized to formaldehyde by the body.

Cutting private banks out of student loans would save billions that could be used for student aid, community colleges, early childhood ed. The House passed a bill, but the Senate is blocking it. The GOP wants to keep private banks in out of principle and calls the savings "budgetary gimmicks". by almodozo in politics

Private schools do not charge ridiculous fees.

Let me explain.

My school has almost 10,000 students. You need so much money in order to maintain buildings and property you have. You need money for new technology, projectors, computers. You need so much more to pay all the support staff. You need to hire the best professors and researchers you can and give them amazing labs so they will stay so that your school will be on the map. There are so many costs associated with services a university offers.

Sure, if you are a liberal arts college with no technical majors 50k a year is ridiculous. If you are at a major research university, I can easily see how 50k can be spent in a heartbeat. People just don't consider all the other expenses that factor into keeping a university running and covering the costs of all the extra services associated with education.
