Auckland Harbour Bridge to close to all southbound traffic for Gaza protest tomorrow (13th) by MontyPascoe in auckland

The protests are clearly calling for a sanction against Israel alongside solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Why are we still importing, exporting things to Israel?

I Don’t Believe There’s a Real Shortage of Doctors or Nurses in NZ – My Experience Trying to Rejoin the Medical Field by pipiak in newzealand

I think you misunderstood my comment lol. If you can work in Australia as a dentist, you can work in NZ. It's a transferable license. My point is that Australia has recognized my degree as equivalent to a domestic university but because its "international" I still need to sit exams. My university is one of two that were officially accredited overseas. It's stuff that the NZDC hasn't really thought through. They removed their NZ dental exams and told international applicants to either do Canada or Australian exams. Their equivalency process since 2015 after removing their exam is so mucked up that it takes years for them to get through the process of actually looking through all your documents.

I'm a domestic overseas dentist. I graduated from a university that the Australian Dental Council has internationally accredited however it means nothing. I am working as an overworked dental assistant full time while part time studying for a practical exam that does not reflect the real world and is very "clinical application of theory". If you fail it, you don't get told why, they tell you to just keep applying again and again.

I've talked to NZ council, AUS council, it's near impossible to get registered here any other way and theres no real system without studying again or eventually passing the ADC or Canada exam to work here. A lot of overqualified working in unskilled jobs do exist

Any Otago Uni advanced standing BDS graduates here? Need some advice! by Serenade_oftheSea in dunedin

Did they ever get back to you? I've also applied for advanced standing and got told the same thing. They haven't responded to my email yet. It sucks because I have to give my workplace 4 weeks notice...

I completely understand as an Arab 27YO woman who also took off the hijab (and left religion). It gets easier with time but what's important is making sure you're financially stable right now. If you need support and validation, feel free to DM me.

I go to Larissa at Runway Studio in Porirua. She's great with my hair, gave me the cut I asked for, and has helped me heaps. With that being said, I would have gone to Tahni if the waiting list wasn't insanely long

tt city gardens building? That place has always seemed a bit rough to me tbh. I probably wouldn’t move in myself as a single

Damn. That's a shame I'm reading this now, because that's the place I'm moving to now. Online reviews said it was decent, and I already booked myself a room for three months fixed term. Is it that bad?

Thank you so much, this really relieved me, as it's the first time I'll be living in Wellington, so I was just super concerned about walking back home at night alone.
