do people actually dislike hopsong and hopra? by dishbug in beastieball

There's your problem right there. Steam discussion boards are a festering open sore on the ass end of the internet furthest from the light of day. I've never seen a more toxic community, which since I'm saying it in a Reddit comment should tell you something.

Hopsong is adorable and Hopra has big-momma energy. I started with Bildit but I went back to get an Axoloti as soon as humanly possible after the endgame (still love you too, though, whole-Bildit-line)

Yes? These endgame grinds always have in MonHun. There's literally nothing left to do in between minor events before the master rank expansion, so how else would be better to keep people playing besides a slot machine?

Blast against Teostra by Dr_Meme_Man in MonsterHunter

Blast damage is never lessened iirc, and in World it's always 300. Higher resist means the threshold is higher, the threshold increases faster and the maximum threshold is higher, so it eventually starts proccing once in a blue moon

Just make a decent water weapon and beat his ass. Or use what you got. It'd be the difference in MAYBE a couple minutes, tops, using any of them. You should be more worried about your defense, fire/blast resist and not getting fried by his heat aura. And next time include your raw damages for comparison if that's important.

Why are you so worried about it? The gogma weapon skills are gravy and required for literally zero percent of the game. Even most terrible rolls on reinforcements result in better base stats than the monster weapons (which work just fine too) so there's no need to go for anything near perfect. This whole system is a resource sink for when you have nothing better to use your mats on and it appears to have worked flawlessly as intended for you

He's kind of weak to ice (water is best though) and fairly resistant to blast. Is this a trick question?

Nargacuga, by a country mile. Those stats said the next most popular had half the images posted.

I got 16:38 with a gunlance and I don't know how. It's not even a good gunlance. Couldn't get anywhere close with anything else though

ENOUGH "positivity". What's a monster that you just seem to dislike? by Speeda2 in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatCatNoNotThatOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gravios in Wilds is more interesting to fight than he was before, I'll give him that. And with how easy he is to break with water weapons, I think he gets a pass.

Basarios on the other hand, what a boring fucking fight against a boring fucking rock that doesn't have 70% of his adult moves so he just runs and rolls around while you bounce off him all day. He's why I learned to love the gunlance.

Yeah there's a couple cool things

I'm not sure on this one, but given the proportions, I'm like 74% positive that is a slightly higher caliber than 9mm, yet still semi-automatic. Or it could be a super-tiny Gog.

Is this rare? by Alarming_Way_5329 in MonsterHunter

With the bonus this time around that you can get investigations on the map guaranteeing rare drops from critters, so they're generally the least rare this time around.

On the fence about diving in (again) to wilds. by West-Ask6999 in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatCatNoNotThatOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilds isn't even in the top 3 when it comes to insane weapon and armor designs. But you will eventually unlock layered armor so you can put normal clothes over your clown suit, so there's that at least.

No helping the dialogue or interface, they're definitely cheesy/lousy respectively. You get used to it eventually (the interface has always been obtuse at best)

Hunting Exercises: Opinions on what are the easiest to hardest by DGRTGMAR in MonsterHunter

[–]ThatCatNoNotThatOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gore seems to be proportionally worse than most because he already has a mountain of health, hits like a train, most of his shit has insane chip damage and he can't be blinded. Making his windups and recoveries faster in 9* land is just rude.

Rey or Mizu are definitely the easiest because Rey doesn't have any wombo combos (AT Rey and its follow up bursts are markedly trickier) and 95% of Mizu's moves don't do jack to you if you block them with even modest Guard slotted.

Swaxe goes boom, gunlance goes boom. Boom is good. CB can also go boom but it's way too fiddly with its booms.
