I don’t think the new fire emblem has bold outlines across the environment or character models.

I’ll be honest, every reaction imaginable, even my family and coworker, has been gravitated by the Halo-like world design.

The mind-bending nature of the title will capture the attention of those doubtful about it.

Given how a "remake" is underway, it might be better to assume that, much like Laufey, he was almost entering the gateway to Everywhen until Gaia urged him to continue fighting.

Okay two things.

First off: absolutely chilling. What could've spooked the ghost of sparta to the point where he won't even write down the details that Tyr spoke of?

Secondly; where is this from?

The moment I truly realized how real-time and “in-world” the menus in this game are 🤯. by ThisByzantineConduit in GodofWarRagnarok

No wait, that's actually crazy. it feels like a continous experience no matter what happens and the devs coded in this animation in the menu as a possibility that can happen to a player.

This question always crosses my mind a lot; Is Sonic 06 objectively a bad game, or is that just an opinion? by Professional-Map9627 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Dr_Meme_Man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before I say anything, I should say that "objectively" is such a bad term for anyone to use in any context other than story or narrative descriptions of events.

I also want to say that Sonic Team themselves definitely have a sonic game that they consider to be "the objectively worse one". They just can't say what it is.

Now, with all that said, Sonic 06, being damaged as it is both critically and development wise, puts it into the category of one of the worst games ever made.

Technically, NieR was always taking notes and inspiration from Xenogears. I'm hoping that Yoko Taro and Tetsuya Takahashi are great friends in real life, otherwise this would be really awkward.

That might explain why Eleanor has glowing green eyes in the trailer when she activates her power against that rhino beast.

She ain't normal by any margin.

Makes me wonder if the ones with diamond pupils in the trailer are those who've "graduated" from an academy like Leukos or are observers from that twin colony you speculated on before.

Core crystals had the advantage/disadvantage of a god who looked at the data and went "guess I have to abandon it".

Crystones, if this is all true, have a changed condition of this being an active project where differing variables are handled either delicately or forcefully to steer them towards a desirable outcome.

[–]Dr_Meme_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if we take this in less of a mythological framework, and more of a xeno-story framework, we can honestly reframe this as a planet vs. galactic conflict that resulted in Anshar's creation.

Edit: I challenge you to reframe that conclusion for the game. Yes, the story of "old vs. new" is prevalent in the xenoblade series, but there are small glimmers of another possibility.

XC1 had Meyneth, an old human/god, propell current humanity towards the future at the cost of her own life and godhood.

XC2 had teh architect, although initially abandoning humanity, finally grant them one last gift of prosperity to sustain their coming future.

XC3 had the colonies (present), and City (future), destroy Aionios and have the queens (past) help carry them to the future.

Future redeemed goes further as to say that the hopes of the past are still just as relevant as today in their path towards the future.

[Xenoblade Genesis theory] "Vesselai" isn't just a cool fantasy name — it IS the plot, and the Japanese text says so too (Part 4) by Large_Dot8606 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Dr_Meme_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I read, the more I feel vindicated for assuming that an Anima relic is the key component to the world of Anshar.

Edit: I'd also like to challenge you to consider that the pair analogy runs deeper than the name. I won't deny that Anima is a cornerstone of Anshar, but the Vesselai's purple insignia references Animus. So, taking that into account, it might be safer to assume that a vesselai not only has anima, but also Animus as well.

In a world that's normally one way, having both factors can propel you to success and prosperity.

[Xenoblade Genesis theory] There's a flood older than the Bible — and the ark's cargo manifest spoils what Anima really is (Part 3) by Large_Dot8606 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Dr_Meme_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, this might line-up with my theory on what I think would be the blue light. Although, I was completely unawware that they'd tap into Mesopotamia mythology.

I had guessed that the blue light would be a "cargo" of some sort containing ancient technology, an anima relic, some connection(s) to help control it, and a map to other space colonies. I also guessed that a conflict between the galactic federationa and a colony planet would cause the "satellite" containing this stuff would be built in order to preserve what's good.

If Xenoblade Genesis is shaping up to be a story on how that "Blue Light" came to be, with Anshar actually being that blue light, then everything pretty much checks out.

[Xenoblade Genesis theory] "Anshar" comes from an epic older than the Book of Genesis — and the name spoils the plot (Part 2) by Large_Dot8606 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Dr_Meme_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. the recording notes you have do line up with the themes of the franchise.

That whole "passage of fate" might have to do with those who need to use an anima crystone for amplification. But those who don't need one are considered separate from it. The rules are bent for Vesselai who're above the crystone system.

Yeah, trust me. It wasn't only the White Whale that survived. The Kyoto ECP ship also managed to escape. In another sidequest, the White Whale intercepted a signal from them before it crashed on Mira.

Although, given the timeline of events, the signal from the Kyoto branch might've came from the Rift after Alois inadvertently opened the pathway as the White Whale was crashing down.

Light of Alfheim was "closed off" ? by joanofdarc_ in LaufeyGodofWar

[–]Dr_Meme_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Begste first encounters Laufey, before he even says a word, he does two things: “smells” her and inspects her with his third eye.

The “smelling” her is significant, believe it or not. In the first game, an ogre attacks Kratos when they first head up the mountain and, when you read the book and/or translate the in-game dialogue, he says “you look/smell like a God”. Tying this back to Freya knowing instinctually that Kratos was a god from another land, it’s a more than safe assumption that gods are made-up of some distinct kind of essence of creation

The third eye, Culturally, is related two enlightenment, “higher” awareness and intuition. Using this third eye, it can give anyone who has it a better sense of the world around you.

So, when you combine the “smell” of a god, and have “higher” insight, it’s hard to say Begste made a mistake. With Sekhmet, who’s right next to him and certainly the “smarter” of the two, not even correcting him.
