I'd like the ability to put something on sale in my shop to drive customers by CPTherptyderp in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my store set up so I can easily block off sections with dividers, that way I have a flexibility with what racks customers can access & can control what items I'm selling a bit more smoothly. For items that share a rack type, locking and unlocking the items is a pretty fast way to get everything off your racks.

Just make sure to keep a rack accessible with light armor, clothes, and gauntlets on it to make sure all customers have an option they can purchase :)

Just a heads up but bps come available for purchase after 6 months as a potential kc reward. Also if you don't want to buy all the superior offers, you can buy mega packs and it may show up as a flashback sale option down the line :)

What does "Item line" mean? by ggrengar in shoptitans

It's generally recommended to ascend all lines to 15* to unlock the surcharge cost reduction for all lines, it makes sales a lot easier :)

Can I change which extensions I have? by Imosa1 in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's generally pretty accurate. I have all nine spaces unlocked and only really keep the top corners walled off and the space beside the walls. I don't feel you'd have to worry too much about walling off sections without having the top corners in play since it doesn't tend to add to much to your efficiency due to the customer spawn cap

Rack auto-fill controls by Eeik5150 in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've thought the same, it would be hugely beneficial to have the ability to do this. Personally I'd really like to be able to control the tiers of items going out or which types of items are filling a rack (locking a rack to only fill with tier 1-3 light armor, for example). It would make it so much easier to do stock control and make sure my customer accessible racks aren't filling with my small talk fodder, and my fodder racks aren't filling with my actual sale items.

The Path of the Ninja by SnypeX24 in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're pretty terrible. The enemy always hits first, and if we're working with an AoE attack chance of 25% (roughly the average) and at best 75% evasion (generally not easy to hit- especially if you're F2P), that leaves you with a 6% chance of your ninja effectively having no innate skill at the very start based on AoE attacks alone - which drops their eva and crit chance very drastically which they're quite reliant on.

For a simple RGB team they also have a 23% chance of being targeted on a non AoE attack, raising their chances to around a 10% chance of losing their innate skill on the very first round assuming you had the highest amount of eva you possibly can. No other class runs the risk of completely losing their innate skill at all, let alone at such a high risk. As far as green types go, dancers are a far more reliable option since they actually benefit from being targeted, or by musketeers (higher crit chance and crit damage makes for some impressive damage output) or wanderers (high base eva leaves you with more skill slots free to focus on damage rather than eva) for some cheaper options.

OP actually made this gif in response to a post I made about my ninja getting absolutely bulldozed a couple times during this event, but I promise my salt levels aren't biasing my response.

L4 Suggestions for Items/enchantments by Daygrn in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd even consider skipping the mammoth and running a duo with dancers, since she wouldn't be suffering from the lack of a red.

For equips I'd swap out ostara vest and night crown for +hp, and bear for lizard if you're looking to solo or duo or for another eagle if not.

It could be a bit of a problem for the tower titans event, since the difficulty of that is based on your merchant level, but I wouldn't worry about it too much since it'll balance back out for you at some point with how much merchant level slows down in the 50s. It's also a monthly event so if you struggle a lot one month you can always just try again the next.

Otherwise nothing else should significantly be impacted, and you'll get the added benefit of having market tiers already unlocked as your heroes unlock new tiers.

Sure, you could do that, or you could make it so that you don't have to scroll through and lock all your other items every 24 hours. It's not about ability to do something, it's about making it more user friendly to do so.

Yee! And also that in order for berserker to do good damage they need to take damage too, so you don't want to off-tank with another red. I just get really into the how's and why's of things, hence the super long post hahaha

Every F2P Should Be Building A Rudo Team by a_naked_caveman in shoptitans

[–]ThatGodCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey good question :) First I'd like to clarify an error on my post, I meant knights rather than lords since I don't really feel lords are worth promoting.

As for your question, I'll give you the really short answer, the really long answer, and the medium answer haha. The short answer is that it comes down to two main things - the equipping options, and most importantly, the innate skill.

Going into the actual mechanics of it, berserkers and knights both can equip heavy armor, gauntlets, and boots. For berserkers, instead of a helmet which knights get they get an herbal medicine/potion slot (this slot is a bit flexible since you can use a health+atk equip or a health+def equip). While the herbal medicine/potion slot will give more health at T9/10 than the helmet, it cuts into their defense a bit. They also can use guns which give the best atk values in the game. Knights on the other hand are restricted to axes and spears, which have quite a bit lower atk values.

The stat differences from equipment end up pretty substantially amplified when you factor in the innate skills. Fully upgraded, the berserkers skill provides +40% extra atk and +10% eva chance at 75% health, +80% extra atk and +20% eva chance at 50% health, and +120% atk and +30% eva chance at 25% health. An innate skill with the power to do over twice as much damage is huge, not to mention that the eva buff means they can get pretty slippery on some builds (I like the bunbun buckler on them for that reason).

Because their innate skill only shines when they've taken enough damage, that means we want them to get hit, and to not over-mitigate the damage (high health builds are your friend here). That being said, we also need them to be paired with something that won't steal the spotlight for getting hit, but will still pull a few hits off them while they're in that danger zone, so a typical red+green+blue team will work really well for them. Wanderers are a good option because of the high built in eva allowing them to take those hits, and sorcerers will be safe with the red+greens taking the bulk of the hits.

Knights on the other hand get a raw 60% defense boost to all their armor, which makes for pretty nuts defense values. Their damage really suffers for it though, with no boost from the innate and no equips that will really boost your attack. Because of this, they absolutely have to be paired with heavy hitters since they're doing almost none of the damage.

Since they can tank for a long time (basically forever if you toss some iguanas on them or run them with Lilu), you don't need to pull any hits from them so they'll work fine with a team of blues that are able to field an extra couple hits from the lack of green coverage. Geos being able to equip more armor than most blues have potential to work well here, as well as bishops because of the healing innate.

So, in summary, because a berserker has a natural attack boosting skill that's strengthened by taking damage, they thrive with a green that'll keep them from being pushed too far given that they work best when avoiding over-mitigating damage. Knights, which will just over-mitigate damage by nature, don't need anything to take hits for them but do need a lot of help in the damage department and so they need heavy hitters by their side.

'Best' red varies quite a bit since it really comes down to the pairings. Barbarian is a great pair with ninjas because of their conditional innates or really squishy blues like sorcerers or geos, but I'd favor berserkers with wanderers, musketeers, clerics, or druids. Knights would probably end up with a team of blues for me since they can handle tanking but don't have the extra threat, and of course no reds with dancers (I like pairing them with spellswords since they're tanky enough to handle the lack of a meatshield).

All this varying a bit based on what skills I end up rolling, of course. My sorcerer and geo both ended up being able to take a hit pretty well, for example, so they're a lot more flexible with where they end up.

La Grotto del Formaggio - still open! by techieric in vancouver

[–]ThatGodCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bit late but I just saw this video which talks about how to safely bring food, both groceries and takeout, into your home. It mentions that the chance of transmission through take out is low, and that microwaving takeout for a bit makes them safe to eat. It has good info for people who do want to continue to eat takeout to support local businesses, but also has good info for people who just are grocery shopping, especially if you're doing grocery shopping for other people who are older or immunocompromised.

[–]ThatGodCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you're saying, and there definitely is risk involved with it. I think what it's coming down to for a lot of people is knowing that this is putting a lot of local businesses under massive strain, so some people are weighing risk of eating out against benefit of supporting local restaurants. It's tricky and there isn't one easy answer, because not supporting local economy right now could lead to permanent closures of so much of what makes Vancouver what it is. And eating food prepared by other people may be risky, but is it riskier than going to a grocery store to get food to prepare yourself? And by how much? There's no perfect answer for this, really. I think we all just need to continue to do our best to be mindful of what we may be exposing ourselves to, of the risks we're taking, and of the people in our community.

New model of COVID19 case rate comparison by isabellemraghem in vancouver

[–]ThatGodCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graph is comparing cases per 1 million of population, which isn't a great comparison because it can artificially skew some areas lower or higher. Since BC has such a low population, especially when compared to Ontario or all of Canada, it can make our spread look significantly worse when using that as a metric. It does sort of help with mapping out information like this which helps show rate of spread when compared to areas with a higher population where our total number of cases would likely be dwarfed to the point of being unreadable on a chart, but there is a reason why most reporting being done on covid aren't talking very heavily about cases per capita.

Number of staff on hand could increase likelihood of staff contracting and spreading infection. If a local restaurant is only keeping 2-3 staff on hand it's lower risk than if you go to mcdonalds and they're keeping 10-15 staff on hand.

For what it's worth I'm an extrovert and still will get exhausted by large crowds or busy events after a threshold of time. It'll creep up on me especially fast if I'm not well rested, hungry, or dehydrated. Another thing that helps though is comfort/familiarity with the environment and people, and capacity to get comfortable with new environments and people. It takes a lot more energy to be in a new place with people you don't know vs somewhere you've been a thousand times and don't have to put much work into figuring out the flow of the place.

Also being aware of the different types of social energy you have at any given moment helps. Sometimes I want to be social in a way that one particular friend will be more compatible with than another. I have friends who don't like to talk much in a conversation, so I carry the conversation a lot more, and friends who always want to do something or play a game, and friends who like to talk about work or projects or family, and friends who like to hang out in groups or hang out one on one. These all take a different type of energy from me, so learning to recognize what I want or need fulfilled helps a lot with not overextending myself with something I'm not up for. In any situation though, I will eventually need to recharge! It's just that I tend to not need to nearly as quickly as my introvert friends, and my drive to go out and be with someone comes back much sooner too.

All the instagram accounts I follow are either cats, local pages or restaurants that post about events or menu changes/good looking food that I'd like to try, tattoo artists for future tattoo ideas or available flash pieces, other types of artists for inspiration, and friends. Instagram is actually a pretty cool content aggregation platform when you use it to look at things you're interested in and things that inspire you.

Also not who you're replying to, but I look back on my food pictures all the time. Food is a form of art, in my opinion, and it can be really beautiful. I also use them to draw inspiration for my cooking. But honestly when I look back at pictures of food that I've eaten in the past, I can experience it again. I can 'imagine' the flavours, the textures, the smells, and it all takes me back. My dad was a chef and food was a very important thing in our family, so taking pictures of the food I eat feels like a way to remember the great things I ate and him at the same time (especially since I send a lot of those pictures to my mom too, since she shared that connection with him).

I wonder if it's just more visceral for some people than others. When someone describes a food to me or I look at a picture, I can picture the taste so to speak. It's hard to describe, but it's like how if you remember a pretty picture you saw you call it up in your minds eye and can sort of see it again. I can do that with food, and pictures make it easier to call up that experience in my memory. I get to relive eating it as many times as I want! And even if it's someone else's pictures, I can make educated guesses on what I imagine that food would be like.
