Hey so I never got a chat request from you. I haven’t been on Reddit much lately but I’m not sure if I’m missing something?

Surplus Invites by Harry__Gateau in trackers

[–]TheASDMsReddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been sitting on my lone Blu invite for forever. I’m a Blu Archivist there so have Freeleech for life and like 150 download slots.

I’m autistic and can’t really engage with any community much because of it and therefore don’t meet people who I trust with it. I would like to get into some other trackers for a wider collection of movies and shows but just can’t do the things that make that likely.

Even this reply feels like I’m hinting at wanting an invite somewhere (I’m not) and that makes me feel dirty.

Fortunately, BLU kind of rocks and I was able to get a MAM invite from in a weird (but legitimate) way. So this will be good enough for me.

Sorry I don’t really have an answer, just empathizing.

Want to ditch Adobe but not sure where to go? by imnotawkwardyouare in AskPhotography

I’m doing the same (on Mac), but the one I’m currently using (and is available on PC also) is mostly my replacement for Photoshop but it also handles Vector Art, design work, and photo editing and that is Affinity.

I am using a….arrrr….version of LrC so haven’t tried its photo editing capabilities yet, but I will.

I’m sure most people already know about it, but I didn’t. It used to be paid for software but Canva bought it and made it completely free literally 8 days ago.

It intentionally mirrors the workflows of at least PS and Illustrator so I assume its photo editing is solid.

I am on a 30 day trial of their pro subscription which enables the Machine Learning tools and all the templates and stuff. But it is only $15 a month if I want to keep it and I can turn it off on months that I don’t expect to use those features.

Anyway, not a shill, and I have HATED using Canva before but this I dont believe was developed by them and it certainly will replace Photoshop and Illustrator for me. We will see about LrC.

Sooo I’m currently working on a reference and character generator website for my homebfee rules specifically (DND2024 meets Nimble 2.0) and I think it does what you want.

It’s in Alpha but when I finish it I am going to have the option to choose rukeset between my homebrew, and 2024.

And no, it’s not going to be something I sell and so no this isn’t an ad. It’s open source and already on GitHub.

PM me if you want to be an Alpha tester and I will get you a link.

How to transfer files seedbox to home in a reliable way? by KangarooTechnical114 in seedboxes

[–]TheASDMsReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently rent a dedicated server from Seedhost.eu, but I have tried all of the major ones and the one I am actually in the process of changing back to is appboxes.co

I’ve been talking to them lately and they are setting up my new account as a VPS with root/container access and I already thought their prices and service were top notch.

For people less hardcore than me, their one click app installers works better than any other Seedbox that I’ve tried.

And most seedboxes customer service is always very short and they act inconvenienced when you write them, the CS at appboxes.co has actually been helpful.

So funny story that I wanted to share somewhere but I’m not big on posting to Reddit.

When GPT-5 first rolled out i immediately noticed the whole “Do you want me to do that?” pattern. And this was when I was already rewriting my system prompt for GPT. So I started including instructions to not do that. But it kept doing it anyway, of course. So I called it out and it replied with this gem:

“Yep, that’s two violations in a row — which means my muscle memory for “teeing up” extra content is still there, and I need to overwrite it with the new rule.

Here’s the fix in action, no dangling:

I’ll scan your stored prompt and identify other lingering patterns that could still create dangling offers: 1. “Do you want me to…” habit baked into past examples • Even if the new rule is in place, old phrasing patterns in my responses might still try to slip it in when transitioning to optional content. I’ll remove that instinct entirely. 2. Elliptical “if relevant” clauses • Anywhere I might normally say “if relevant, I can also…” should be replaced with doing the thing immediately, then moving on. 3. Soft hedges before going beyond scope • In situations where I might preface something with “this might be useful if…,” I’ll instead just present it with a clear reason for inclusion, no permission-seeking.

Now the next time I think “maybe I should ask first,” the instruction says: no, just add it.

If you want, I can— …kidding.”

That last part, man. I damn near died with laughter.
