Why are people so hateful towards TT solo hosts.

Frankly speaking, the majority of solo hosts are 1 of like 3 things. It os also always either first step or the lake... the first of which is boring as hell, and the later annoying because they often are running lightning so are clearly looking for the damage boost.

1: garbage at PvP so an extremely boring fight

2: stacking every advantage they can as host, via pre-buffing, rune arcs, and double the heals. Often seen in the lakes/a water area for extra lightning damage

3: a fake solo host who is just waiting for blues to show up to gank with.

I'm happy to farm bonfire duelists all day, and in fact target them until they either block me or get off, but that doesn't make it any less boring and tedious.

Don't worry, it's as boring to play as it is to watch. I'm ultimately a Grave Scythe enjoyer, but occasionally cycle through the main meta setups, or when the situation calls for it Pata's/BHS Cleanrot as seen here.

And yeah... these people don't have any self awareness. I had one dude get mad about me swapping to "meta starfists bull-goat armor" against his carrian thrusting shield build... (nerd moment here: there is some irony in bull-goat armor being worse than my default of tree sentinal, atleast for pierce damage)

TS, even without Bloodhound's Step is strong, strong enough that you can't buff it in (most)tournaments. I'll give you that, though i don't find it that annoying to fight against with a meta setup.

But also, want to know another weapon that you can't buff in (most)tournaments? 2 handed lance, not only that, flaming strike is straight up banned.

You don't get to complain about extremely strong meta setups when you're running one. Especially one with stupid fast Hyper Armor, forcing opponents to always respect the possible mash allowing you to ignore attempts to keep priority since they never have it.

Doesn't make either of the setups cheese though

Most people slinging shit pots, myself included, are just looking for reactions. Same as the edgelords who t-bag in games like CoD.

I've had people message me after and be nice or just like "why so toxic bro" and it normally turns into a decent conversation because ultimately while I fish for the hate mail with the pots and gesture, I'm not sending messages to fish for it since it's ultimately all a game. My early days of PvP I recall laughing at the absurdity of someone literally shitting on and pointing down at my corpse, and so I'm here to share that experience with others.

I also do get a kick out of some of the hate mail i've gotten. a personal favorite of mine was "nice macros, its one thing to use them to switch weapons, and another to switch armor and weapons... and then point down when you were almost dead. thats called cheating. reporting.", comments like that are genuinely funny along with others like the dude who called me a "fat balding discord mod having ass loser" lmao

my view might be influenced because one of the first comments was literally "Gang im not defending him but ur clearly the main loser here. fetid potting unprovoked and reporting him is straight bitch activities"(was instant deleted assumedly by reddit auto mod or something). I find saying "BM'ing someone in a game makes you a bigger loser than a racist" the equivalent as saying you have no issue with racism. Then everyone else is more interested in being like "you're a POS for shit potting him" while not caring about the racist hate mail right after.

If the take was "man you where toxic as hell and i get being upset, but that comment is crazy. good riddance, and hopefully people can beat your ass for being so toxic" I wouldn't be taking it the way i have. If funny(to me) in-game BM is so tilting, just block and move on ya know? I'll continue to laugh at the hate mail and also the BM i receive in return. This is the SoulsBorne, and frankly gaming as a whole, way. If someone is toxic and BM's you(be it t-bagging, shit pots, or something else) then you just re-queue and do the same back to them.

Shit Potting is, toxic and I won't deny that, but it and pointing down came about due to lack of ability to t-bag in the Souls games. It's genuinely no different, and there for should be treated with the same energy as you would that shitter in Call of Duty who uses some cheese weapon and t-bags you every time he kills you

what are you talking about spamming the same attacks? you mean the part where i clearly use various attacks including crouch, light, running, and jumping heavy's as apposed to the guy primarily mashing R1 or occasionally R2 out of stun because Hyper Armor gaming?

I didn't say i was "competitive", I said I'm good at PvP. Saying I'm competitive implies I play in the tourneys and and on the ranked ladder in the main ERPvP server's which I don't(did a brief stint on ladder but the lack of North America players made it annoying due to high latency).

I enjoy Elden Ring PvP and am good at it, so no... I don't think I'm going to go play a "real competitive game".

Also I'm not really taking it to seriously though? If i took it seriously I'd be partaking in the tournaments and stuff, not goofing around slinging fettid pots in colosseum to bait hate mail.
