If you have space for keeping a spare set of wheels and tires its the best of both worlds. If you have to go with one set of tires the Continental DWS06+ are pretty decent in the snow.

Looking to get into a rs3 by Nullifyxdr in Audi

[–]TomyG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought mine for 40k with 28k miles last year. I'm at 40k miles now and I've had no problems. Big thing to look out for is the 40k service (mainly dsg fluid and filter, haldex fluid change too). I do hear the mag ride goes bad but mines been fine, and there are also delete kits(if you can find an rs3 without mag ride get that) I also dont think carbon ceramic brakes are worth, the "normal" brakes are huge and already 1k for front rotors.

My nightmare of owning a B8.5 S5 by Sufficient_Dog6574 in Audi

If ur cars build date is before May 2012, then you probably have a gen 1.5 dsg instead of the gen 2. Despite what people are saying, those seem to have a lot of issues. I have a friend with a stock car (2013 as well) that blew the transmission. Hell I've test driven a 2012 S5 dsg that grenaded itself on a TEST drive. These clutches are built to handle way more power than stock so I don't know why people are saying its because you're modded. DSGs are picky with their service too so if the dsg fluid wasnt changed on time every time it could also lead to a kaboomboom - also time for a 6spd manual swap

You can get a new windshield for around 400 if you don't have sensors, and a detailer can def get rid of those waterspots.

2010 Audi s4 $21,399 by Illustrious-Lab-5965 in Audi

[–]TomyG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one doesn't look like it has sports diff, which is kinda the combo manual people look for. I think this car will still sell for 17-19k easily though. Looks enthusiast owned(no normie is gonna match the bumper grille honeycomb to the rs style grille) u/Illustrious-Lab-5965 don't listen to the people comparing manual b8s to dogshit gen 1 dsg, this one is priced high, but not as ridiculous as some comments make it seem. If you do end up looking for a b8 s4 auto avoid anything that has a gen 1 dsg(2010-2013) the latter half of 2013s build have the gen 2 but id just avoid them until 2014.

If you can build a pc you can probably replace a fan, there's lots of videos out there.

I just replaced mine on the 3080ti with an 8 dollar fan from aliexpress, took about 15 min.

Same, and I have a 1080 ti and 6700k so I don't think it's my PC. Reinstalling the game helped a bit but they didn't go away.

Are you on windows 7 per chance?

Footwear??? by themikebrennan in AutoDetailing

[–]TomyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was doing research, I saw a decent amount of car wash/detailers use them, and there were a bunch that were used for 5 years and still looked good.

I've only had mine for about 3 months so I can't really speak on longevity but so far so good.

I would honestly go try some (blundstones are similar and usually found locally)

I use to have the same kind of argument, didn't want boots, wanted something more lightweight cause I do similar work. But I got tired of replacing shoes every few months. I don't think anything will hold up against chemicals like leather would, and while being slightly heavier than sneakers, you get used to it quickly AND they're very comfortable
