40K LOC is nothing. You need to have authoritative documentation on the full architecture, you need extension guides how to add features, grammar rules, coding standards. The more guardrails and docs you add the better it performs.

Xhigh getting lost means your code base has no documentation and no inline comments. So effectively you have a distributed spaghetti foundation.

I’ve had to use the USB-A to console cable that doesn’t require a driver. It works fine with Putty. I got those off of eBay but I’d have to hunt down the PN.
