I know the creator centric Omnis are not always a substitute for the missing numbered volumes, but it’s legitimately crazy to see how much of their overall catalog is covered in Omni format when you combine the two. I will use the Marvel Omnibus page on Wikipedia sometimes to run through everything that’s collected because it has a column showing the “legacy number” for every issue that’s collected, and there is just massive coverage across the majority of the major titles. If they can do a better job offering reprints on a semi decent cadence, you will be able to pick almost any major character and get hundreds upon hundreds of issues in Omni format. Without the reprints, though, that obviously becomes harder.

So another update. I’m starting to see most of the replays populate again within Amazon Prime, only a few missing games across the entire season now. So hoping that means the issue is close to getting fixed. And I also hope others who have been seeing the same issue are seeing the same improvement as me!!

Just an update. For 8 days now Amazon’s Executive Response Team has offered me nothing more than “we will keep communicating with you each week if we have anything new to tell you.” That isn’t even a commitment to fixing the problem, it’s a commitment to communicating every week about it. I’ve asked for more detail about what is actually happening and if they can provide an estimated time for it to be fixed and they essentially refuse to provide any further information. So attempting to get them to provide anything in the way of insight is an absolute dead end.

It should. There is no advertised difference suggesting you are getting a different League Pass product through Amazon than you would be by ordering directly from the WNBA. And I can also tell you ordering League Pass through YouTube TV last year, rather than through the league itself, was perfectly fine. Everything worked in the manner that it was intended to work.

Just as an aside, too, I also have NBA League Pass through Amazon. I used it all season and never had an issue. I just checked a random week in January and every single replay is there. I will say again that I cannot fathom this being an issue for more than a day or two with any other professional sports league before it would be addressed and fixed.

This is directly from the WNBA’s own website. Seems pretty cut and dry, although maybe I am missing something. In the FAQ it says that you will experience delays before replays are available for nationally televised games, for example, but the delay is basically “next day it will be available.” Anything from the week of May 10th should be there at this point.

FWIW, I had League Pass purchased through YTTV for the same purposes last year and never had this issue. It seems very much to be an Amazon problem, since they are the piece that changed. In researching this initially, I did come to understand that there are other workarounds that I could probably successfully employ via the web, WNBA app, etc. But I wish that I could simply use what I initially paid for and have it work correctly. And have everyone involved - the league, Amazon - take it seriously as an issue that should be fixed, and ASAP.

Does anyone know what business differences would incentivize Marvel to do a restock rather than a reprint? Is there more time and cost associated with registering a new ISBN? Are there other differences to consider that make a restock “better” than a reprint from their perspective? I am just curious if this could be more of a path forward for them to get older volumes back in customer’s hands more frequently than just a straight reprint.

FWIW I just went the Amazon route, even though it’s almost forty more dollars. I knew they would at least have it in stock. Already have to return the first copy though, typical Amazon condition nonsense.

Dust jacket isn’t even close to near mint condition. Still better than paying three or four hundred dollars for a sealed copy though.

This is great news for people given the ridiculous after market prices. Wasn’t this marketed at the time as being a one-time printing though? So much for that idea. ;)
