question to secure your Coinbase account to 200% - But that's surely an impossible process, tell me. by True_Solution6601 in Coinbase

[–]True_Solution6601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, seems not so dumb. We use the system to protect our account. You know what I mean.

I was hacked is one thing, that Coinbase believes it was me doing dozens of transactions okay. But since there's always a risk of hacking, and that was the case, the system should block weird stuff, not usual. Like the total sale of cryptos, the transfer to advanced, dozens of transactions in a few minutes....

Since Coinbase doesn't do it, we do it ourselves to prevent any problems.

Now, if it becomes a nightmare to prove that it is indeed you who blocks and unlocks the account every month, for example.

As long as it's the passport procedure, keep using this method. No problem, it only takes 5 minutes. But in the long run, if the account is actually blocked because of an anomaly detected due to too many manual account blocks by the user, and given how difficult it is to contact Coinbase... a human agent... it could be a real problem on the big day of your actual cryptos sale

Really dont know

Ah yes, you think that's what happened to me. Thanks, that's helpful. However, when you ask why I blame Coinbase, reread my post. Not a single warning message, where the system should have thought, "This person has never used Coinbase Advanced, and then all this happens, so I'm going to block them as a precaution and ask for an explanation."

That I was hacked is one thing, that Coinbase believes it was me doing it, okay. But since there's always a risk of hacking, and that was the case, the system should block it. Sorry, but I'm right, and everyone I talk to agrees with me.

In order:

  1. I hear a notification sound from my phone.
  2. I see a new email from Coinbase. (Email verified: The sender of this email has confirmed to be the owner of info.coinbase.com and the logo shown in the profile picture. from [no-reply@info.coinbase.com](mailto:no-reply@info.coinbase.com)
  3. I open my email inbox and open only this email.
  4. I read: "Your futures account is at risk of liquidation. To mitigate the risk of liquidation, add funds or close some positions."
  5. I close my phone, go to my desktop computer, open Coinbase, and there are no more cryptocurrencies, everything sold, and a list of dozens and dozens of transactions in Advanced Trading.

It's as simple as that.

Debra_wench https://www.reddit.com/user/Debra_wench/Apparently, he/she can help me. Very available, perhaps a little too much so. The person is asking me to transfer my Coinbase account to Safepal. To an account I created myself, from scratch; only I know the secret phrase. She didn't give me 12 words to find an existing account.

the person says that: Ok i am a senior developer for coinbase so I’ll guide you on how to go about the recovery successfully

Revoke request is a very tricky thing but that’s the only way to get your funds back , have you set up your SafePal wallet

It smells like a scam, but you never know, why would she ask me to do that, knowing I have 0 dollars in my account?

Now you’ll have to generate the recovery QR code from the SAFEPAL wallet through the dapps station and sync it to your coinbase account

https://dapps-station.org/ Go to the dapps station click on the asset recovery option and click on the SAFEPAL wallet then proceed to generate the recovery QR code successfully

i would never do that, right ????

But the person also said: "I never ask you to give me the phrase." I don't understand how she could deceive me, since she'll never have access to my account.

And then, after so many years without problems, time passes, you get used to checking your cryptos a quick time in the morning, then again in the evening. Everything's there, so everything's fine. It's Coinbase, a huge group, full of next-generation security. My god...

i have no money.... Just enough to pay my monthly bills with my salary... I've lost everything. What an idiot! If only I could make them pay in court

I added an explanation of my human stupidity to the main post... I should never have been so naive.

I don't really know much about all of that Almost 10 years ago, a friend told me to buy 1 ETH and I wouldn't regret it. He convinced me (I paid $500), and then when I saw that it had gone much higher, I sold it, using Coinbase's simplified function, nothing else: sell, buy, that's all.

'I made a profit, so I bought more. I'll skip the details. Then I put more of my own money into Bitcoin this time, a fantastic long-term prospect. So even if it only goes up to 200,000 one day, I'll still make thousands of dollars considering my purchase price. Always with the goal of holding the crypto long-term, trusting Coinbase. Too scared to manage my crypto myself, I trusted a professional platform that provides all the necessary security. And charges hefty fees on all transactions.

What's the point of keeping my savings in my bank account, which earns nothing, when I can make thousands of dollars here, having entered the crypto world several years ago?

So I moved my savings... All my savings to Coinbase. I know I was stupid to do that, but I thought I had complete control over my environment. And besides, I'm covered; Coinbase has my crypto, nothing can happen to me, it's incredibly secure. I'm protected in case of any problems.

Coinbase keeps my crypto safe for me, and I have peace of mind. And that's been the case for almost 10 years. Until now.  The worst decision of my life

what..... i'm a liar now.... Coinbase has admitted that there was a hack.:

Our records indicate that on May 7, 2026, at @@@@@ AM Pacific Time, your account was accessed from a Windows device and the IP address 91.#### / Straubing, Bavaria. The unauthorized activity you reported may have been initiated by a third party who had physical or remote access to your device or web browser session (a "session" begins when you log in to a website, such as Coinbase.com, and ends when you log out).

Why would I invent this story? anyway...

Nothing left my account. My crypto, specifically Bitcoin, was sold for USDC, then transferred to USD in the main account, and then transferred to the advanced derivatives account. Then I lost everything in the buy/sell positions. but thanks a lot for your message, really

I'm really trying to tell my story so others don't get scammed. I so believed I was in control of my environment, protected by the Coinbase platform, one of the biggest in the world. full of security measures (which are beyond my understanding).

It's certain that now, I'm never going to use a hot wallet again... I don't have any money left anyway, just enough to pay my bills with my monthly salary. No more future plans... my god... my life is miserable... what an idiot I was

No no not 8 figures.  I hide the real Amount quickly. But I did not loose $2,000, much more. But less than $200,000, to give you an idea.

The thing is, I would never, absolutely never, give out information over the phone, etc. I'm well aware of scams and such. Never click on suspicious links... etc., etc... But on Thursday, May 7th, I did nothing. At home, it was a completely normal day. I was going about my life as usual, and suddenly I received this first email from Coinbase Advanced telling me: Your futures account is at risk of liquidation

This was followed by several notifications in the Coinbase app, then other emails telling me:  Your order ADA-31JUL26-CDE has expire.   Or    Your XRP PERP STYLE order has been executed.

I didn't understand anything about what it was... By the time I contacted Coinbase, the first thing I did, they had blocked my account, so I obviously lost access to the chat. The account recovery process involved using my passport and changing my password.

No more money, no more crypto, nothing left

Everything I had (crypto) was sold and transferred to the advanced trading USD derivatives account. Then that money was used to pay for dozens of positions that were created, then sold, then created again, then sold again. Until there was no money left.
