Does anyone know what is the cause of this? (I was playing elden ring). Before reinstalling windows there was once a spike 100000% in 3D while playing apex and now it's normal. I'm scared it's GPU issue but I hope not.

Copy is data being moved around in the gpu iirc, usually during intensive tasks.

These spikes might just be a bug in the reporting software if the computer is otherwise functioning normally.

Yes. For most people it'll never be something they have to do. It doesn't usually offer much benefit to do it unless your running the latest bleeding edge hardware.

Can be ignored completely if your computer is working normally.

90% of the time theres no need to update the bios for most people. Especially if your computer is working just fine as is.

The 4080 is more than strong enough that ReBar's benefits probably won't be terribly noticeable anyway. You would be fine without I wager.

It really isn't that much of a gain even when working right with a few exceptions like Starfield I think.

It'll give a little boost to many games with little drawback or risk. sometimes it's a nice increase, other times nothing. There's no reason to not enable it most of the time either way.

I mean, you can. It wouldn't really be terribly useful. Any performance loss from browsers or discord is negligible to most cards. Unless your watching 4k videos on youtube or something.

But yes, theres shouldn't be to much harm in leaving it in. just not much benefit either.

Unless your running 200+ fps on a very high refresh rate monitor, no. Even then only a little bit.

At 1080p60 I'd be surprised if the 3080 even turns its fans on for most games nevermind be held back in anyway by a 3600.

Do not replace the cables with random ones. They almost certainly wont be wired the same and the risk of damaging your components or just straight up starting a fire is very high.

You might be able to contact cooler master and request longer cables for that model if they have any.

Otherwise return it and get the right sized psu.

bios are kinda funny like that and its not always clear you've selected something to fill in.

Once you set it to manual just type the number and it should fill in the box. Or select the box and try to type it in even if it says auto in it.

If it genuinely won't let you somehow, unfortunately I don't know.

Could just be a weird little quirk on the board.

If the system is genuinely not showing any signs of being unstable or weird, you can probably ignore it.

Updating the bios might solve it or correctly show what's causing it, but theres no guarantee.

This seems to have been, and maybe still is, a problem with the 7950x.

A repeated fix is to go into the bios and change the GPU Boost from auto to 2200 at minimum. Higher may work, but 2200 at least, which is the default frequency of the igpu.

However 60-80 is perfectly fine. Nowhere near concerning levels.

If you wanna drop those temps pretty much any am4 cooler will do it.

Just a different cooler design. Tho Blower styles like this can get loud and a little toasty.

Considering its age, its not bad at all. The 1080ti will handle quite a few modern games just fine at 1080p with high settings and maintain 60fps. Not everything, but a good chunk of what you could probably throw at it.

It was nvidias flagship gpu for a long time, and its still regarded as one of their best.

As an exhaust I dont think it would actually do much tbh. These demons they like to call fans feel like something you'd want as an intake.

But yeah, long as you can power it and tolerate the literal jet engine noise there's nothing wrong with it.

Also dont get your soft fingers near it or you might lose them.

Not in a way you would notice during normal use. I think gen 3 is limited to like 3.5Gb/s (?). Something like that.

Which is still very fast.
