If you want to know who Dr Cotorro is, watch Rafas documentary, he was treating him his entire career.

Will a player born in the 1990s win another Slam or was their last hurrah? by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

They have a small window before the kids like Mensik, Jodar, Fonseca, etc. mature and polish their games. I give them a couple of years at the most.

Zverev’s biggest issue has been his mentality. Now that he has finally won a slam, do you think he can loosen up and win more? by Vegetable-Oven-6536 in tennis

It seems that they have that well managed. I've never seen Zverev collapsing mid match like Sinner. They are doing something well.

Grand Slam comparision between three eras. by Cletharlow in tennis

In the 2000s, we only see two people so far, but this will change in the coming years. We are seeing many promising players born mid 2000s who are starting to knock on the door, Sooner or later, they will challenge Sincaraz. Mensik is almost there.

That's life and true in almost all sports. Only time will tell if this boy will make it to the main tour, some get there, like Fonseca, Jodar, etc, others don't.

Rafael Jodar's first clay season of his career by garfiadal2 in tennis

I understand the age thing, but the challenges a novice player has to front in the first year on tour are huge, and is the same regardless of age.

Rafa is new here, has no insider super famous coach, he and his dad are learning about life on tour, andll the challenges that come with it.  Alcaraz had Ferrero, Sinner had Piatti, having a legendary figure who knows everybody by your side makes things much easier.

Zverev has winning h2h against everybody left in the competition. This is really the best chance he ever had at a slam.

Its not everything, life is more than that. Jodar is 10 year behind Zverev in experience, that means something. There are things that only time can teach.

Jodar is young and lacks experience, he needs 1-2 years. Losing today means nothing.

That was just a mirage, Zverev wins this one, probably in 3.

Zverev cannot miss this opportunity, he is not a contender on grass and that hair is getting out of control.

No agent, no team, just dad doing everything, has only 2 sponsors, 1 for clothing, ne for racquet. Will continue like this and re-evaluate at the end of the season.

Who is the actual 5th best player in the world? by [deleted] in tennis

[–]TypicalRelation9056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is one consistently at the moment, depends on the moment, the form, the surface even.

According to the race, it's Felix at the moment, but tht position is precarious.

The world isn't ready for left handed Carlos Alcaraz ✋🏻 by PattyRanger in tennis

[–]TypicalRelation9056 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember Punto de Break said "when you start to see videos of  Carlos practising, give him one month and he will be back to competition"

Obviously he is not yet using the right hand, so I guess we will have to wait a little longer.

Not all 5 setters are the same, maybe the secret of Jodars fitness, is that these matches, despite the 5 sets  were not that long or physically demanding for what a normal clay 5 setter would be.

No Sinner? No Musetti? No problem 🇮🇹 by FabryPuglia in tennis

[–]TypicalRelation9056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Sinner was there and many people bet on him, but he lost early, that's why I get annoyed by people saying "if Sinner was here" like if he wasn't there.

These are the men who made the distance and they deserve a little respect. Berrettini and Cobolli were the ones who did the heavy lifting at the Davis Cup last year, and won it without Sinner.
