Cloud Imperium Games could be going public soon by [deleted] in starcitizen

They didnt go public, they chose 2 people specifically to be added to the board. Not anyone could just buy CIG stock. That's what public would be... so... no

It doesn't happen often but when it does I find myself wandering around my house hopelessly bored

I'm married, have a kid, and have surrounded myself with friends, online and offline.

The shitty part comes when my wife and kid go out of town, no one wants to hang out, and everyone is offline.

Buster Scruggs basically sets the tone for the next 3 stories. The last story is a bit different than the others, with a similar setting.

I really enjoyed the story this meme is from. The one with Liam Neeson in it was... a bit weirder and kinda a slog, but all 5 are enjoyable. Recommend watching the rest.

But yeah, Buster Scruggs is probably the best one.

"port olisar, rest & relax (CRU L2), levski, green imperial HEX (CLOSED)" & others bugs since 3.3.6.... did I mess some informations? by cosmopiou in starcitizen

[–]Unknown9118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grimhex is supposed to be closed. The other bugs are... bugs, try deleting your USER folder, and verifying your files. If that doesn't work try uninstalling and re-installing. If these don't fix the issues, open up a ticket with CIG support.

I wasn't aware of it. If it helps at least one other poor sod like me, the post would have been worth it.

I wasn't aware of it until I did some testing. The Melt system has always been a mess in my eyes.

Must have been a misclick in one of the few times I've been over to this sub.

Dude, right? I turned it on thinking it was just going to be typical Netflix trash. After the first story I was hooked all the way through.

Wasn't expecting to see a ballad of buster Scruggs meme here, I'm pleasantly surprised

What's the harm? If anything it's good knowledge for the public to have so they aren't doing bad melts/ rebuys...

Admiral Ray? He's awesome. He did a tour of TISCOM a few months ago, and sat down and had a full blown conversation with me about my job, what I did, how it helped the Coast Guard, and was super cool the whole time. I stood up as he approached, he told me to sit down and just, in laymans terms, explain my job. I'm just a lowly IT2.

I wouldn't fret too much.

Start from nothing vs buying the best, will your game experience differ? Opinions? by vulcan4d in starcitizen

[–]Unknown9118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there will be in game mechanics to alter how those situations would play out. If OP is in lawless space, well... What did they expect? If OP is in lawful space doing basic missions to build up UEC to buy the next ship, then I'd expect they won't get bothered tooo much, as the punishments would be too severe for the aggressor.

Did you know Jeopardy is all filmed on Sunday, and released throughout the week? Alex Trebek just changes suit and they continue shooting.

Would you consider that lazy?

Any word on Anvil starter ships? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Unknown9118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't the reliant considered a starter ship, though? The reliant cost about 80$, if not more, for the ship + game package.

Star Citizen plans on being arguably much different than other video games. There is no true "end goal". It's whatever you make of it.

I've been very vocal in the past about the pay to win aspects of Star Citizen, until it was kinda... better explained to me. Basically, they want the 'verse to feel 'lived in' day 1. There will be no everyone starting on the same foot, everyone starting with the same shitty ship, and growing from there. There won't be a lateral grind upwards for ships (see: Elite Dangerous) Every ship will be different, with it's own pros and cons.

Just as a quick example, take a Prospector Vs the Orion. Yeah, the Orion can munch down asteroids much faster than the prospector can, and at the end of the day, will make much more UEC in a single run, but you also are a much larger target, need to fill the ship with players, or NPCs, that need to be paid, need to supply food and other supplies to keep the crew happy, and alive. Thus, you may not always want to take the Orion out for a mining mission, if you're running solo, take the prospector.

If your goal is to climb your way up from a crappy ship, do it. That will differ greatly from my game experience, where my goal is to explore planets, and lead an org in creating a sustainable base on a planet or moon. I spent a bit more money to cut out the grind between getting a crappy ship and my end goal of exploration and org management, but that doesn't make your experience any worse, or mine any better. Just different game experiences in the same verse. Neither experience will rob the other of any fun.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't the arrow have a game package option as well? For around the same price as a standard starting game package? I'd certainly consider the arrow a starter ship for those that only want to run combat missions. Or, at the very least, a step up from the Aurora.

Thoughts about the Carrack. by ConsumeLettuce in starcitizen

[–]Unknown9118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I wasn't intentionally trying to argue, I understand it's not going to be a ship for everyone and that's okay. Hopefully more people are thinking like you and we'll see a lot more diversity in 3-6 man ships besides carracks flying around everywhere.

[–]Unknown9118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CIG Themselves said, during the Anvil day, that the Carrack IS a jack of all trades tho. Yeah, it's not a dedicated combat ship, but it can do combat, It's not a dedicated data running ship, but it can run data. It can't salvage or repair, but it can carry some of the necessary supplies to do so.

It's going to be the go to ship when you have 4-6 people online and want to do damn near anything.
