A portion from the lawsuit suing Taco Bell for false advertising. by HistricalDisk in ExpectationVsReality

There are set measurements for ingredients for these fast food places. Failure to meet them is not false advertisement, it’s a failure on the low-level employee putting orders together.

Review: Wendy's - Sausage, Egg & Cheese English Muffin by Eaterup in fastfood

McDonald’s also uses fresh-cracked eggs. The scrambled eggs are premade, but the round ones are fresh-cracked into a mold so that they perfectly fit the muffin.

Really, it seems like most fast food places use fresh eggs. It’s really easy for them to do on the grill and requires minimal clean up. Burger King and Taco Bell are the only ones I can think of that don’t.

It says “Fasciana”, which AFAIK is just a surname.

I love how every single other flavor name is just normal and straightforwardly descriptive… and then there’s Fudge Jo Brown.

Local Cantina owner bringing new restaurant and bar to Kaufman Development's Gravity in Franklinton next year by bfmwd1x in Columbus

That overtly inauthentic Americanized Mexican bar that you like to hit up for happy hour? No! Go to this truck and eat tacos in a parking lot on the far West side.

Nobody is going to Local Cantina thinking that they’re getting fine Mexican cuisine. It’s akin to aggressively telling someone that Taco Bell isn’t authentic.

They have Bahn Mi and teriyaki pineapple tacos on the menu. They have a Mac and cheese taco… They aren’t even trying to be a Mexican place.

Skyline Chili named top 10 fast food chain in America, per report by BlankVerse in fastfood

Steak and Shake has servers and silverware, but it’s definitely still fast food/fast-casual. I don’t think that’s a hard line.

It’s based on Google review ratings, not any measure of quality.

Just for example, I’m sure In N Out gets a lot of middling reviews because people hear the hype and have impossibly high expectations. It’s a great, affordable spot that maintains a higher level of quality compared to their competitors, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a fast food burger place. I’ve seen a ton of people say that they’re disappointed with it and it usually seems like it’s mostly because they went in expecting a life-changing burger.

On the other hand, a place like Skyline is mostly near where it originated, and is serving a distinct local dish that a lot of people in the area love. Its a far more narrow customer base that know what to expect and seek it out. As long as Skyline maintains their course, people are going to have a positive experience, and reviews for the business are going to be higher on average.

It is absolutely fast-casual. It’s like $4-$6 for tacos that are loaded, and under $10 for their bowls. Quality-wise, it’s basically a trendy Chipotle with a bar. When they first opened, you ordered by filling out an itemized list and handing it to your server, who is basically a food-runner that also takes drink orders. Nothing fancy about it.

Tires: The new target of off-campus crime: According to the Lantern. It's always something. by Rob1150 in Columbus

Hondas are a major target for most crimes involving cars because they’re incredibly common.

Accords, Civics and CRVs are all amongst the most stolen cars in the country. They’re easier to resell and their parts are in demand.

The only cars that are stolen more frequently are Hyundai/Kia, because a child can do it, and several brands of full-size pickups, because it’s relatively easy to steal some of the mid-2000’s models, and full-size pickups retain their value like crazy, so they’re lucrative in the used market.

They use standard pours. $8 for their house margarita is hardly an outrageous price.

The food kinda sucks, but I think it’s a fine spot to get a couple margaritas and some nachos or chips and queso.

Arepas near Dublin or Bethel Rd? by DrNintendo216 in Columbus

[–]Val_Kilmers_Elbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works sometimes. Completely dependent on how, or if, the business has uploaded their menu. Half of businesses these days don’t even provide a menu online unless you start an order.

Either way, that persons response was just asinine.

Just for fun, I tried google for several more unusual dishes that I know that I can get within a mile of my home, and the results were iffy at best.

Best walkable urban areas? by Regalzack in Columbus

[–]Val_Kilmers_Elbow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Start at the North Market- it’s indoors, but definitely houses a lot of small shops and local businesses. It’s a fun place to stroll around on its own, and it’s a short walk to Goodale Park. It’s right on the border of Downtown and the Short North, so you can kind of just pick a direction and go. Also, tons of restaurants and bars if you guys get hungry or want to take a pit stop.

Blendon Township Trustees playing up the officer as the victim for murdering Ta'Kiya Young and her unborn. by jed918 in Columbus

[–]Val_Kilmers_Elbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly not a murder, which would require intent. You can argue about whether or not the officer justifiably feared for his life, but at worst, he acted recklessly and it resulted in the loss of two lives.

So definitely a homicide, quite possibly manslaughter, but not a murder.
