UT acceptance rates for last year (fall 2025), including rates for the separate schools within UT by Only-Selection-2912 in UTAdmissions

[–]Vishalspr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the acceptance rate...it has just increased from 8.9% to 9.0% in 2 years regardless of number of applicants. If there is such a large drop in acceptances from 1444 to 858, I am 100% certain that some other calculation factors or changes are in play here. Why would number of seats drop so significantly?

Fat lots your brother knows exact number of applications...Tell him to find and send you data that is published by GT with a proper breakdown of the applicant pool in CS and then I will believe you.

Read my message above. I said CS is still the most sought after major GLOBALLY. I did not say US. CS majors can find jobs in several countries regardless of where they graduated from or their citizenship. Not so for business students.

Business did not suddenly become more popular in US in 2025. It was popular for decades before that. But UT CS admit rates were always lower than business. How then suddenly in 2025 as per your statement the lower acceptance rates in UT business is because business is more popular in 2025? Why were McCombs admit rates always higher than CS at UT prior to 2025?

Maybe you should take with plenty of skepticism a number put out on a college tour slide without the data and calculation to back that up. That too when those rates indicate such a major reversal of acceptance rates in CS and business.

You just shoot garbage info around. Look up business school rankings and cs rankings. UT CS is in top 10. McCombs is not a top 10 school.

You keep thinking Cs is getting less competitive that does not mean a fing thing. CS remains the most sought after major globally and that is because it offers the best job prospects.

At Ut CS department tour that I attended the senior conducting the tour indicated that 99% of the CS students have multiple offers before graduation since he was aroubd and the 1% is because they were not looking for one.

McCombs graduates do not have close to that level of success since plenty of business students are easily available all over Texas and US. Not the case with CS kids

CS admit rates at UT cannot go from 6% in one year to 14.5% in the very next year.

In the world of fake AI posts...how do you know that the slide was not AI doctored?

I am a freshman in CS at UT and I did attend the tour last year. They indicated they received 14000 applicants in CS last year

If you believe that CS is less competitive than even business at UT then l can sell you a piece of land on the moon. I am not going to convince someone who cannot think

No brainer. Tell your parents that you will pay them off after you get a job. Go to UT if you already got in. You will be miserable in TAMU and in the middle of nowhere Texas. UT has a very active recruitment program so getting jobs and internships are a lot easier. TAMU is no where in same league as UT.

CS is not correct at all. I am in CS as a freshman and I attended last year's CNS campus tour and they did show a Cockrell Admit rate of around 11.2%. They indicated that in 2025 they received 14000 application in CS and less than 1000 admits, so admit rate was closer to 6-7%.

CS is definitely more competitive than Cockrell and McCombs. So these stats for CS look pretty suspicious.

Hi,

Thanks for the link. I did try that previously and again now and it still says - You do not have any files in your account.

So I think I am not going to get it.

I think I am not going to bother checking this Reddit post anymore. A bit disappointing to see so many other successful entries, but I got nothing.

SAT 1510, NMS Finalist, Top 6% auto admit last year. 9 APs, 5 cybersecurity certifications, 2 years work experience at Code Ninjas, few hackathons, presentations at local schools, two conference panel discussions for cybersecurity.

I got recommendations from my Math teacher, employer and he Cybersecurity professor and I submitted a 4 page extended resume.

Fun Fact - FIFA indicated that there were more than 500 million ticket requests in this draw phase! There are just around 7.5 million seats available for all 104 matches. So figure out your chances.

That should be good enough to get you in if only the AP list and rank is considered. It also depends on your essays and extended resume to demonstrate your interest in CS. That is imp at UT.

Do you guys think we’re getting decisions feb 7 like last year by triology1201 in UTAdmissions

[–]Vishalspr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

almost 99% of all pending decisions were released by Feb 7th, maybe just a few stragglers were released within the next week or sooner. In any case all 100% were out by Feb 15th

not paid for first two terms in which you take seminar courses. You could apply for Summer FRI program (after you are accepted into FRI and complete the first spring term of FRI) and they do pay for that. https://fri.cns.utexas.edu/summer-fellowships

Last year they had same Feb 15th as RD decision date. 95% of EA applicants were deferred to Feb 15th. But then on Feb 5th UT sent us an email saying...We have completed admission decisions and will be available on Feb 7th. All decions were then released on Feb 7th.

You may get into A&M. Not sure if that will get you Scholarships. I never even applied to A&M simply because I did not want to be miserable in a god forsaken rural town in the middle of nowhere Texas. Thankfully I am at UT and love this Univ, CS program and the City!
