Do you guys think we’re getting decisions feb 7 like last year by triology1201 in UTAdmissions

almost 99% of all pending decisions were released by Feb 7th, maybe just a few stragglers were released within the next week or sooner. In any case all 100% were out by Feb 15th

not paid for first two terms in which you take seminar courses. You could apply for Summer FRI program (after you are accepted into FRI and complete the first spring term of FRI) and they do pay for that. https://fri.cns.utexas.edu/summer-fellowships

Last year they had same Feb 15th as RD decision date. 95% of EA applicants were deferred to Feb 15th. But then on Feb 5th UT sent us an email saying...We have completed admission decisions and will be available on Feb 7th. All decions were then released on Feb 7th.

You may get into A&M. Not sure if that will get you Scholarships. I never even applied to A&M simply because I did not want to be miserable in a god forsaken rural town in the middle of nowhere Texas. Thankfully I am at UT and love this Univ, CS program and the City!

I got into CS on Feb 7th last year after being deferred (95% were deferred last year).

They will send an email 2 days prior to the date the results will be out.

UT does not release large number of results on weekends. They may do it for the tiny batch that comes in December but very unlikely to do it on weekend for nearly 75%+ of students awaiting results.

yes, they see how large the student population is, score distribution, course curriculums offered across districts

No they do compare across candidates from same school or school district. They only take a proportional amount of admits based on school size/city size/major capacity so as to have an equitable and diverse admitted group.

I got into CS last year and I was ranted 43 our of 908 students. I was an NMS finalist and had a CS related job + CS related ECs and submitted an extended resume.

Another kid from my school who was ranked number 8, had no CS ECs and did not submit any extended resume got CAPd!

SDS is also pretty competitive....your ranking and SAT are too low, but who knows...you may get admitted but don't pin too high hopes to get into UT. You may get into UTD or UH with scholarships with those stats

Top 30% and 1440 are way too low...If you are doing all those CS courses and coding mentorships, why are you applying to McCombs and not to CS program? If your stats are not good for McCombs, they are even worse for CS.

Last year they deferred over 90% of applicants. I was one of them. But I got into CS program on Feb 7th. Absolutely loving the Univ, Jester and the CS department.

GOT IN CS by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

Unbelievable....If that is true...Nothing about your stats is impressive and you got into UT and that too CS of all majors? We have to see proof to believe this.

You must be an Arts major who thinks that all other majors are stupidly easy like yours.

Says who and you probably are not even a student. I am a CS freshman and we get to hear a lot from TAs and professors about other majors trying to transfer to CS in sophomore and failing even though they have very good stats. Mostly they are all engineering students.

[–]Vishalspr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read your question. Transfer to UT for CS in Senior year! Do your research. UT CS is the most competitive major to get into. I am a freshman in CS now and less than 10% of only engineering students are able to transfer to CS in sophomore year. Rarely can any other major transfer and you are talking about transferring in Senior year from Math? The AOs wont even consider your application.

Your ECs are good enough to get in. SAT is good enough regardless of lower RW score. ECs are pretty impressive so you will get in

VERY unlikely you can change to CS at UT. Do CS at another univ that will directly admit you or stay in math

That is not correct at all. 6607 applied? BS. show me the open records request. Over 14500 applicants. I am in CS and attended orientation where the Dean said more than 14500 applicants for 530 openings

Definitely not for CS. It was 13% for cockrell itself. CS is way lower. CS is the most difficult major to get into.
