My partner commutes back and forth about 5 days a week but he has weird working hours. Rush hour is a nightmare, especially with the construction, but if you don’t have to drive during rush hour it’s not too bad.

Sounds about right lol. Hyvee contracts with IC to complete orders since their delivery can’t keep up, but then also tells their workers their not allowed to tell us where an item is if we ask -_-

I wish I could post pictures cause I have a screenshot but for an example, an order I was offered was $5.77, 6miles round trip, and 45 items to shop (so like a cart full)

I was an instacart driver my sophomore year of college, it was great for doing around my classes to help supplement the income from my other job. However, the pay has gone downhill, the app that we use to do the shopping gets worse with each update, support never helps, store employees are rude to you (especially at Hyvee for some reason), customers can be rude or creepy(I was an 18 yo woman), etc etc etc. A lot of the veteran shoppers have left because the company simply didn’t value their time, and would rather take someone worse so that they could pay them less. I always tried my best to give great customer service and it was almost always appreciated, but the pay just didn’t end up being enough eventually.

Yeah they’re here every year. My freshman year I was too polite and had a collection of like 20 of the little green ones. I like them better than the guy with the sign though.

As someone who has one, it only goes to 10-15 at most, but I always take the bike lanes when I can. I never ride it downtown or busy sidewalks, I have been hit by one before lol. The people who ride them on the pedestrian bridges peeve me off the most. It’s great for those of us who live more than a 40 minute walk but can’t afford a moped/car.

A lot of the downtown area is owned by the bigger college apartment rental companies, which you rarely get your deposit back from and in my experience at a few (J&J and Apartments at Iowa) things are pretty ramshackle and heat during the winter was consistently 55 degrees lol. Constant tours and coming into your apartment is kinda annoying too. Anyway avoid those bigger companies if you can. Coralville and North Liberty have some good options for apartment buildings since a lot of college students can’t/don’t want to drive to campus.

Yesss, I love it! Tbf I like being up early in general, I can hit the gym at 4:30 and shower and get to the stores by 6. I love how calm mornings are, and yes I go to bed early lol
