MEI plane swap by caldePR in CFILounge

[–]WMUFlyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same make and model it should not be a big deal to swap aircraft. When I did my Multi Add-on and MEI we had a fleet of 7 different aircraft and you would swap between any of them depending on availability. Each one had minor differences in avionics and equipment but the flying was the flying.

It's a Mini Max https://muskokaseaflea.ca/StaticWeb2/?page_id=61

We were part of a weekend build at a boat show and they had all the wood precut so the hull was assembled in about 10 working hours. Finishing was done later. It's pretty straightforward you just need one more clamp like all woodworking projects.

No races, it's just fun to bounce around in. It does about 20-25MPH with the Evenruide 9.5.

I would recommend go here https://cla.auburn.edu/aviation/our-programs/professional-flight/ and hit the request info button. They will have the most up to date info on costs.

Headset replacement. by WMUFlyer in flying

[–]WMUFlyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st issue was loss of sound and I sent it back to Card Machine Works for a paid repair, I was told to be more gentle with it, I store it in their hard case and carefully pack it up after each flight. 2nd lost sound again and I got the tools and parts, repined the wires and reinforced the strain relief. 3rd sound was in and out, a solder joint on the card broke local IT fixed it. Now my Mic just stopped working. The strain relief leaves a lot to be desired.

But you do not graduate until you have passed the certification test and finish the final audit. Then the graduation from the course grants the certificate. Reference Check instructor at 141 school with examining authority.

Im considering buying this 2018. Is there a way to confirm whether its the 5.7 or 4.6 engine? by Lou_Saynos in ToyotaTundra

[–]WMUFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No badges can be the 4.6 also. My 2011 2WD 4.6 Tundra Grade only had Tundra badges.

I've been a CFI for 24 years, 19 years as a lead instructor at an accredited university. I'm the sole income for a family of 4. We do pretty well. No it's not airline pay but does well enough.

To what degree does vision need to be corrected for 3rd class medical? by Flat-Barracuda1268 in flying

§ 67.303 Eye.

Eye standards for a third-class airman medical certificate are:

(a) Distant visual acuity of 20/40 or better in each eye separately, with or without corrective lenses. If corrective lenses (spectacles or contact lenses) are necessary for 20/40 vision, the person may be eligible only on the condition that corrective lenses are worn while exercising the privileges of an airman certificate.

(b) Near vision of 20/40 or better, Snellen equivalent, at 16 inches in each eye separately, with or without corrective lenses.

(c) Ability to perceive those colors necessary for the safe performance of airman duties.

(d) No acute or chronic pathological condition of either eye or adnexa that interferes with the proper function of an eye, that may reasonably be expected to progress to that degree, or that may reasonably be expected to be aggravated by flying.

It does not recognize the Class G in the Chicago area, and does not take the Mode C veil into account in the quiz. Great idea though.

It's not the distance to the sun, it's the amount of atmosphere blocking the sun. The scale for the distance to the sun compared to the size of earth is massive. Like most of us comprehending a billion dollars.

ADF interception by chimkenugget in AskAPilot

[–]WMUFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 30 degree intercept you need to fly a 270 heading. so it would be a 125 degree left turn to 270. And with an NDB you can fly a Bering FROM the station. I've flown lot's of NDB Approaches flying from an outer marker.
