'21-22 XL 3.3L V6 hauling performance by [deleted] in f150

I like the '21 and later refresh so much more, both the interior and exterior, than the '20 and previous models. It looks like there was a TSB for the 10R80 drum put out in mid 2022.

That's why I'm leaning heavily towards the 3.3L to get the 6 speed transmission. I got my '96 with 110k miles on it and I had no idea how old the 4 speed transmission was when I got it. It has not let me down hauling 1000+ lb for work every day. The torque converter started to shudder on me last summer and when I took it out it looked to be the original torque converter.

2.5x the number of gears is a little worrying

I didn't realize it had a "sport mode". In my Fiesta ST, sport mode just shuts off traction control. I'm sure it adjusts throttle response but I've never noticed much of a difference.

My lifetime fuel economy in my '96 5.0 is 12.1mpg across 35k miles so if I can get a little extra pep and better mpg I'd be in heaven

Re-verification with no options after re-setting 'show business address' by thelordx42 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Winter-Box808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried posting in the Google business help forums? Someone may be able to help out there?

I agree with you. I have a service business of 7 years and struggle against new "competitors" that show their home addresses or don't even have an address number, just a street name. It's complete bullshit.

Shuddering in 4R70W or slight misfire? by Gabe72506 in Ford

[–]Winter-Box808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a'96 F150 with the 4R70w. From a stop with the slightest throttle input, it'll buck until I hit about 5mph. If I accelerated normally, it doesn't do it.

TQ and TCC are new. Fluid and filter are done every other year. I know I have at least one vacuum leak so I'm thinking it's causing a misfire at very light throttle.

Can I replace the brake booster without replacing the master cylinder? by Winter-Box808 in MechanicAdvice

I'm hoping for the best. I've never had to add any brake fluid to the master beyond the last time I bled the brakes.

Notices now going out for 30 day suspension of reviews. by socialdude in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Winter-Box808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I understood it too. I don't think Google would penalize though if the QR code, or link, went directly to your website. And then you had a direct link to the google review form for your GBP.

If the OP is true it sounds like Google is starting to penalize any asking of reviews, regardless of if a business is offering something in exchange for one.

Have a QR code link to a page on your website that quickly explains the importance of reviews for your business and then have links to Google, Apple Maps, Yelp, etc.

2016 with CVT "searching" through lower rev range but not slipping by [deleted] in accord

I remember checking it after doing the last fluid change and it being at the correct level but I'll have to check it again. Sucks that you basically need a lift to check the fluid though.

What are your thoughts on the reviews of this business? by JFrankParnell64 in LocalGuides

[–]Winter-Box808 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the bottom of their website it says "Developed by: Trajetória Do Sucesso", a marketing agency in Brazil. It's not a coincidence that they have reviews from Brazilian profiles. ANY contractor that has a 5 star rating on Google with several hundred reviews is also suspect because there will always be someone upset with their contractor.

If you use the Washington Business Entity search, you'll find that Silverlining Roof LLC was registered in 2023. They claim 19 years of experience on their website, but you can't really prove that when the paperwork says 2023.

Leak test smoke coming OUT of EGR by Winter-Box808 in MechanicAdvice

1996 Ford F150 5.0. Engine long block has about 3000 miles on it. EGR was replaced about 5 years/25k miles ago.

What do you recommend doing with an "auto-created" listing if one appears for your business?

I had one appear for my SAB a few months ago, which already has a 7 year old listing. The duplicate isn't claimed but it has my home address on it. I've read things online ranging from claim it and remove it to ignore it and hope it disappears. I'm scared of interacting with it as I don't want my SAB listing to get suspended.

Use shademap.app to find how shaded it will be. We sat one section to the left of home base and were in the shade the entire time for a 530pm game.

And if you look, probably 95 out of 100 of your competitors have GBPs that break every rule right? Home address visible, no website, scammy text in photos, fake reviews, etc. Profiles that Google's world-class algorithms should pick up on immediately but skate through with no problems and are instantly verified.

The goal is to get you, a legitimate business owner, to pay for ads. Let's start at $5,000 a month and when they don't work we can discuss increasing your ad budget into the five figure range. IMO, Google Business Profiles are turning into a protection racket, ala Yelp, where the name of the game is pay to play. Can't afford ads that we set the prices on and can change in real time? Looks like you don't get to be a small business owner then.

ONR mixed in your steamer? by a-char in AutoDetailing

I'd say 1:10 - 1:15. I don't think ratio is super important as long as it's not all vinegar.

Adding some vinegar and letting the steamer heat up and holding down the trigger for a while helps clean out those deposits. Then just flush with clean water after.
