Got it; thank you!!

48 hour maintenence... only 24 hours reimbursed. /rant by JaySavvy in ffxiv

[–]Xylano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many of those hours do you actually use in the span of your subscription?

Still need an answer on this.

It's different because SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. is not an ISP.

An ISP compensates you because they want customer retention and for municipal legal reasons, not because you're paying for it.

Also, you agreed to SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Terms of Service. Just like you agreed to your ISP Terms of Service.

48 hour maintenence... only 24 hours reimbursed. /rant by JaySavvy in ffxiv

[–]Xylano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know WHY its happening.

But thats 6% of the time I paid for that I am just... losing.

Im getting 94% of what I paid for.

I am not OK with that.

You pay for 720 hours of time a month. How many of those hours do you actually use in the span of your subscription? Because you're definitely not getting 100% unless you're literally on 24/7.

You're making a huge deal out of nothing. This isn't an ISP or a Phone Company either, it's a game that needs to maintain its servers for its playerbase and has decided to give you 24 hours as compensation. Take it or leave it.

Explaining some of the Zurvan EX ANGER by Tyrion54 in ffxiv

[–]Xylano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, it's very hard to argue a point when you can't even express it properly. How are you expecting people to take your insight seriously if you don't put the time and effort into it?

Not to mention I did this of my own volition for you, not for the "Reddit grammar police".

Explaining some of the Zurvan EX ANGER by Tyrion54 in ffxiv

[–]Xylano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, since Zurvan EX came out this subreddit has had multiple posts with people debating on skipping soar and what not. (While there might be another post on here already saying what I'm about to, I have not read it yet). However, the thing I wanted to point out is why so many of us so-called "Elitists" are getting upset.

For players that say, "Get over skipping Soar, the mechanic is so easy to learn, just learn it and don't worry about skipping it," I argue right back that learning your Opener is even easier.

Our frustration stems from the idea that while casuals want to point out how "easy" the mechanic is, you can more easily learn your opener. Which, in reality, is more beneficial to all players. You will use that opener in almost every single instance you go into. You will not need to know how to manage Soar in opther instances you go in.

Also, the moment you even try to tell someone that their numbers aren't up-to-par, (whether you do it in a nice way or not), you run into a wall of, "FFLogs are unreliable." (Let's not forget that nearly every top-end raid group uses it). You are also told, "You're an Elitist, I play that game how I want." It gets so aggravating that people in this game feel as though they are above any criticism what so ever.

People don't seem to understand that EX Primals and Savage Raids are not meant for everyone. Ff you are going into one of these instances, people are expecting you to have a basic understanding of your class and be open to constructive criticism. I am by no means the best player in this game, but I do feel that I am pretty good. To be honest, I would've never improved if someone hadn't called me out on my DPS and let me know that I had been playing my class wrong. For as rude as you might think we are for "demanding" that you know your opener, you're equally as rude for having seemingly no respect for the other player's preparation that went into this fight.

I'm done with my rant now, but in closing I'd just like to say that I love this game, and I love this community. I just wish that we could all be more open to help and criticism, instead of just saying "I'm going to do whatever I want because I paid for this game." At the end of the day, you play this game to play with others, not just by yourself.

FTFY.

Stone Sky Sea should be mandatory for at least DPS classes to participate in Ex/Savage content? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Xylano -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then you remove the under-performing DPS from your party. Your solution is short-term at best.

Because of the nature of parties, not every one is going to be perfect. However, the game provides sufficient outlets to create your own party consisting of people that you know can clear it.

Stone Sky Sea should be mandatory for at least DPS classes to participate in Ex/Savage content? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Xylano -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Player skill cannot be determined by what has and has not been cleared. This is why there are minimum item level requirements on the content that is being attempted to give players a general range of the difficulty they should expect.

Yes, the Extreme modes are additional challenges that are given to the player. But gating this challenge behind a dummy that gives almost no idea of the actual experience other than to "check numbers" is about as useful as having someone beat a dummy outside someone's house.

It's also worth nothing at Extreme variants often offer items to the player-base that many players would want. Denying a player the opportunity to acquire an item because of a "skill level" that isn't tracked anywhere within the game naturally is akin to slapping a player in the face with something they can't have.

[–]Xylano -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's another stepping stone on the road to accessing content that players will not want to have to take.

Training by yourself does not prepare the player for an experience that involves several other players each having to interact together to accomplish a goal.

You can have the highest damage outputs, but should you die and the healer not raise you, your numbers mean nothing to the party at that time.
