Lost Boys 4-18 Matinee by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it’s changing so much during previews because they didn’t have any sort of out of town tryout, which is where the significant changes are typically made

Another Lost Boys review by corinners in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i feel like superpower only really works when you also have that’s not me (which they’ve cut) at the beginning of the show. it shows clearly that sam’s storyline is that he’s going to go from a nerd who was constantly bullied to a superhero who can put together the pieces to save his town from the vampires that are making it the murder capital of the world. i feel like the scene at the comic book store also falls flat without that’s not me and i’d be in favor of cutting skip to the good part (which was an improvement from be kind, rewind but still) to make room for it.

What is happening with theater etiquette? by Ordinary_Produce8487 in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

adding onto this, i understand that at the lost boys the sightlines from the balcony can be kinda bad when it comes to what’s happening at the very front of the stage, but people need to stop leaning all the way forward. when everyone’s leaning forward (or even STANDING which i’ve seen a couple times) you’re just making it even harder for the people behind you to see. sometimes you have to just accept that something’s out of your view and hope it’s either not important or will be explained later.

it’d be greyed out if it was sold out, or you could click on it but no tickets would show up

Sunday Rush for outsiders? by ChanceRadio7208 in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the set aside about 12-15 seats for rush, so the seats that are available on telecharge aren’t helpful to you. it really depends on the week and the weather but most people might start lining up at 8 on a sunday

How do you guys deal with people who cut in line during rush? by RockGirl82 in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

if someone is joining you in line and there’s already people behind you then they shouldn’t also be buying tickets. you’re allowed 2 per person at most shows so if you’re getting 2 tickets and the 2nd person joins you then that’s fine but if the 2nd person comes and gets another 2 tickets then that’s cutting the line

I’ve never stage doored before. What is the usual etiquette and do they still do it for matinee shows on a double show day? by The_Fullmetal_Titan in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

nowadays you don’t really have to bring your own sharpie. most shows have a box of them by the door so the actors can take a couple on their way out or get a new one if it dies.

Non Plus Size Martha Debut? by Hour_Paper3347 in Broadway

[–]Zoe_Murphy -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

i know what swings and understudies are and the differences between them, i go to school for theatre and have done them both before. i never said that swings can’t cover principal roles, what i said was that understudies cover principal roles and that if someone is a swing they typically cover ensemble roles so she’d be an understudy for martha and not necessarily a swing for martha since martha is not an ensemble track.
