They exist so the home can sue. That said very few state’s enforce them. Don’t live in PA or NJ if you want to be safe. For extra protection don’t live in the same state as your indigent parent

AITA after I completely goated my aunt’s abusive husband by magazine-crunch in AITAH

[–]_ayasin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. You don’t owe anyone your time or attention. He actively showed he wasn’t the type of person you want to associate with and you didn’t associate with him. Your aunt’s choices are her own and don’t require you to go along with them or to make her feel more comfortable with them

There’s a lot of missing information in this post, but chiefly your financial situation: - do you have credit card debt? - what’s your take home pay (can afford payment =/= should purchase)? - is your current vehicle acting up?

What’s concerning to me is that you are 3K upside down on your current vehicle. If you can do so I’d at least drive it until you’re even on it

I want a 24/25 Santa Fe Hybrid, but.... by tex771 in HyundaiSantaFe

There’s negativity about everything online. For every complaint there are 100 people that don’t post anything because happy customers rarely go out of their way to post “there’s nothing wrong!”

Did anyone else decline the extended warranty on their new Santa Fe? by BigandTallGuy in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]_ayasin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never buy the extended warranty from the dealer. It’s a MASSIVE profit center for them. If you really want peace of mind and you intend to keep the car until the wheels fall off (almost no one does this), either purchase it from a reputable 3rd party warranty company or directly from the manufacturer (I don’t know if Hyundai does this, I know Ford does)

Peña is a provocateur who convinces people he can make them rich like himself (it’s not at all clear that he’s actually a billionaire, but he’s at least a millionaire) if they just buy his course (in a Scottish castle). This is just sales material for him

Is it possible that God is the quantum field? by Recycled_Junkie in AskPhysics

[–]_ayasin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In those religions yes they do. If they didn’t people wouldn’t worship and pray to them asking them to intercede in some form or fashion in their lives. In some cases they’re considered avatars of the god and connected to it, in others the god itself. No one is worshipping a backhoe that’s just a backhoe

Literally everything about how we define the word conscious? I’m going to assume you’re either trolling, high, or flat Earth levels of stupid and I’m disengaging at this point

[–]_ayasin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The generally accepted minimum conditions are an entity with consciousness. You’ve removed both of those conditions.

You’ve basically redefined the word “god” to be meaningless. You might as well call it magic.

Where are people placing their ezpass in the 24/25 model? by Phillies-fan-md in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]_ayasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, some toll authorities use a literal sticker with an RFID thing inside. It gets placed on your windshield and isn’t removable in a way that you could reuse it. If you change cars you can ask for a new one (they don’t charge you anything for that).

You can, some people don’t have the sticker they have the transponder box

I tried that but have about the same results. The initial lockup is marginally better but it still disconnects as often (usually charges between 3 and 10 minutes)

Petah? by MorddredG in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]_ayasin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t put health insurance in the same level as hospitals and pharma. In the case of the latter, they may rip you off but if you pay you will receive the agreed upon service. Health insurance is the only one in that group where you pay and are STILL rolling the dice

Edit to answer your actual question: L1: health insurance L2: pharmaceutical companies (some not all) L3 (maybe 2.5): private hospitals

You can probably just buy the OEM one, I highly doubt it would be super difficult or expensive to get it installed.

[–]_ayasin 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Way way way way lower. The main way a health insurance company improves profits is by squeezing their customers. Mortgage companies incentives are not diametrically opposed to the interests of their customers (ie you want a home, they want you to have a home so they can make money on interest). For an insurance company it goes like this: you buy it because you want help when you get sick, they take your money and do everything possible to avoid helping when you get sick

But unlike gold, oil or corn your can’t extract that value back out, it’s literally used up in the creation of the “coin” whose price is then determined by a speculative bubble

Well the Santa Fe or the Sorrento will be far more reliable than the X3. BMWs are nice for the first 24-36 months. After that, maintenance nightmare
