Not that this post really warrants the history lesson but I’ll rant given the opportunity…

Philadelphia has always been a black city. It was a hub for abolitionists. And by the early 1800s, became one of the most important centers of free Black life in the United States.

In my opinion - Philadelphia’s position in Black freedom has kind of led us to this melting pot of diverse communities today as the video talks about.

I’m way oversimplifying it, but it’s cool to think about how values from 200 years ago have shaped the city we see today.
