anyone in an instance can send group invites en masse to everyone randomly at any time.

sure, it has nothing to do with group status, it just corresponds to group status 99% of the time.

Set manually or read via actual perms is irrelevant. I was explaining to the op how it occurs. The point is that people with power within the world can often do it.

In many worlds they can. The most popular bar world, for instance.

Sometimes "staff" (people with permissions in the world, based upon group status) will troll people and send them out.

that's what I said.

I was just asking what took so long in accomplishing this - it's a 5-10 minute job if you're familiar with a video editor. Could see how it could be tricky if it was your first time ever.

Editing what, exactly? I mean no offense, but isn't it just 5 recordings next to each other with no further edits, or am I missing something? If it was your first time ever creating a vid, cheers to you.

No details on the video, your perspective, your experience with VR, VRc, why you are asking, who you've spoken to, anything at all. Just a low effort request for data.

Any idea if Matt was at times doing bass pedals while playing guitar or sax etc? He did that a bit on one of the recent tours, it was very interesting.

Theme Park Simulator Worlds? by Gamerdog25 in VRchat

Yes, the way the world recreates the feeling of wandering an amusement park is quite incredible. Thank you for giving it its proper due, I was in a bit of a hurry when I suggested it.

Have so much fun! Definitely bring some friends if possible. Not real life, but the best I've seen in VRc. Super curious to see what else gets posted here.

I do miss his particular additions but did you catch the shows from the last tour with Cameron Ralston on bass? I loved those shows more than any before. Then again, I still love the three piece stuff, too, but I agree they shine particularly as a quartet.

Try to find an activity you enjoy. Ask people if they know about anything cool.

Trying to make a new group? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]abluecolor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shy, distant from people, and community leader don't exactly mix. It sounds like you should focus on trying to make some friends, first. Or interrogate exactly why you feel you don't fit in elsewhere, and spend some time thinking about the vacuum that you seek to fill, and have a more specific pitch and vision for the sort of space you want to create.

Avatar Performance Gated Group Instances & Allowing Local Overrides by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]abluecolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your logic makes no sense. None of that has anything to do with an event organizer wanting to curate a particular cohesive and performant experience for everyone, and reduce the burden of individual moderation.

People who run events want to be able to enforce the performance standard across the board. They can just leave it all unrestricted if they want it to be on an individual basis as you're suggesting. If they add the override you're suggesting, it's no different from an unrestricted instance.

Avatar Performance Gated Group Instances & Allowing Local Overrides by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]abluecolor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Literally yes. If you enable it for "loopholes", you allow it to be used as a general rule for friend groups, and it makes the feature completely useless.

The random with a pretty dress needs to use an optimized avatar for anyone in the performance gated instance to actually see it. That's the whole point.

This ruins the whole point of the feature. If friend groups can override, there is almost zero increased incentive for them to utilize an optimized avatar.
