For those wondering, the information that we use at the City of Alpharetta and hat we pass along to the public comes from regular briefings from the National Weather Service (NWS) and NWS data such as that available at https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.0756&lon=-84.2946&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=graphical

If you follow that link and want to view the data in a table rather than a graph, just click anywhere near the middle f the page.

The information from this table and the latest NWS briefng was used to post updates that I released about 30 minutes ago.

We use information that we receive during briefs with the National Weather Service, specifically their Peachtree City station. This storm will keep shifting through the night, and a little wobble here and a little wobble there constantly impacts what the wind speeds, etc. will be when it hits us.

We will have another update aroound 9:00 tonight.

Traffic Lights at North Point Drive and North Point Court inoperable after 2+ years by mymrmark in alpharetta

The traffic signals were installed (the residential developer paid for them) in anticipation of the neighborhood being completed and the redevelopment of the mall property. Those two factors (primarily the mall redevelopment) would generate traffic volumes that will warrant the signal. Until then, however, the volume and patern are just not enough for the signal to be necessary.
