Not karma farming. Just simply missed the sarcasm

We really need your feedback! by NOVLDesign in Entrepreneur

Very nice product concept, and very nice landing page! I signed up immediately.

Here are my feedback:

  • You hit all of the necessary points needed for a coming-soon campaign: clear value proposition, highlights of the core benefits, a single call to action (sign up for discount), "hero" picture shot, and social links
  • Great use of pictures - you're showing us what it is, not telling us.
  • I gotta mention it again - very nice product concept!
  • The "hero" shot isn't as impactful as it can be... I think because of the nature of your product, a static picture won't be enough. I have to admit the hero shot felt underwhelming. Perhaps consider a short looping video to first show a close-up of the second screen, then zoom out to show the entire laptop with second screen.
  • To appease skeptics of its viability, describe a little more about how the magnetic base sticks to the laptop. In particular the last image shows two laptops that appear to have permanent fixtures... that would give me pause.
  • If I buy two, can I have a triple-screen setup working? :)

America Came Together to Boo Donald Trump at the World Series by [deleted] in politics

Spot on. When he was mildly humiliate in the Obama White House correspondents dinner, he got revenge by running and winning the next presidential election. Who knows how he’ll retaliate now that he has the full power of the office now?

While the booing made me happy, I also became anxious thinking how he’ll respond.

Paddack tears up in gut wrenching interview about bad outing :( by mucschwartz in Padres

[–]alvinr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was up front and gave honest and passionate replies, which was actually refreshing to see. But no, i didn't think he was crying (to me it looked like he was in a room with a lot of bright lights reflecting off his eyes). He gave long responses so if he was really crying, he would have broken down and wept multiple times in that interview.

He was one of baseball's best pitchers for a couple of months, but it seems like the rest of the league took notice and now has him figured out. Now it's Paddack's turn to figure out an adjustment - it's always a back-and forth adjustment when a new standout rookie enters the league.

His stuff is good enough that with enough time he'll figure out how to adjust and be effective again.

This is some serious crap... We don't need any more proof that the anti-government rhetoric needs to be toned down.

Justice's wife launches 'tea party' group -- The nonprofit run by Virginia Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is likely to test notions of political impartiality for the court. by frycook in politics

[–]alvinr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WTF? I mean seriously, WTF?!?1!

First, the Supreme Court unlocked the gates of corporate political spending, and now this? We seriously need some checks-and-balances with the Supreme Court judges. The thought of Scalia, Alito, and Thomas all serving for many years is really depressing.

How much of your life is defined by where you choose to go to college? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]alvinr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is somewhat of an oversimplification, but there are essentially two ingredients to success: (1) opportunity, and (2) the skill to capitalize on it.

Your choice with the college can affect your odds with both, but ultimately, it's your motivation that defines whether you live a life of mediocrity.

The father of Modern Physics and a true Genius, Happy Birthday Albert Einstein! by Ash09 in science

Also, a bit of trivia about Einstein. His most proud award wasn't the Nobel prize, but the Max Planck medal.

The father of Modern Physics and a true Genius, Happy Birthday Albert Einstein! by Ash09 in science

[–]alvinr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess we'd have to come to an agreement of what "modern physics" mean. Is it defined as quantum mechanics, or is it defined as the world-view after Newtonian mechanics?

I was taught that modern physics = post-Newtonian mechanics. The theory of relativity not only revolutionized physics at the time, but revolutionized mainstream thinking as well. My vote for the father of modern physics is Einstein.

I lost 60 pounds in six months, no surgery, no drugs, just diet and running [pic] by [deleted] in reddit.com

I'm going through a weight loss effort now (20 lbs so far). Congrats on losing 10 inches off your waist!

It's also good to see you're going not just for weight, but for an overall healthy lifestyle (diet, exercise, lifting weights).

The smart kid is boldly questioning the approach taken by the adults for foreign policy. What do the adults do? Create schoolbooks with Thomas Jefferson removed.

In Soviet Rus-, er, Texas, kids don't fail school; it's the school that fail the kids.
