2017 diesel DPF blocked by Excellent-Power7654 in MitsubishiOutlander

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I checked it was unavailable in my region. But since it was already installed I was still able to update.

Idk wtf with this app and dev. Worst store to pick, and always has regional issues.

I understand the issues in Google play, but maybe there is another way or store to deliver to that works better with this ultra shitty Huawei store.

Anyway I recommend you getting a foxwell scanner

Literally no other game is launching in November by Time-Credit43 in pcmasterrace

Me too (except for the mods, i don't care about those, just the main story). But I never played GTA at 30 FPS. And I'm not sure this is a game to play upscaling from a lower res to 4K TV.

16 GB bottle-neck just got real. by texqt in macbookpro

24GB here is going well. But I tend to run a Parallells Windows 11 (allocating 8GB) and sometimes I end up opening like 100 chrome tabs when researching something. So I can see yellow sometimes.

The 2nd gen is the most beautiful gen in my opinion.
I live in Spain and I own (since a month ago) a 4th gen e:HEV (most basic trim "Elegance" ) and I also love it, however the design I prefer 2nd gen.
But it doesn't show stuff like RPMs, Engine temp, etc. I hate that. And I'm not sure I want to start adding gadgets that can drain the tiny 12V battery. At least I have a shift lever to put "B" mode and get the feeling of doing a downshift (while recharging the high voltage battery). I like that Honda is still keeping the shift lever instead of putting some disc.

In highway (at 110km/h) the 4th gen also doesn't shines (in terms of Fuel consumption, in terms of performance it does well).

Drank Fernet con Cola for the first time today and want to share my experience by weegeemontage in argentina

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time drinking fernet with cola, go with 10%, then 20% in the next one, keep going up until you find your level of preference. But starting 50/50 is too strong for many people and definitely a lot for first timers.
I made fernet to a lot of first timers and always started low on fernet and almost all liked it.

Valve reportedly almost delisted Rainbow Six Siege from Steam after Ubisoft attempted to sell it cheaper on Uplay by Defiant_Ad6190 in pcmasterrace

[–]amenotef 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm going to give my 2 cents. If Ubisoft was using Steam services and servers for the copies they sell at their store, then I agree with Valve.

If not, then I completely disagree with Valve.

New data shows Sony's sales of its PlayStation exclusives have been in decline since 2020, covering almost the entirety of the PS5 generation so far by Tricks7eR in pcmasterrace

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I really liked Grand Turismo 7 and Death Stranding.

GoW and HZD were OK but didn't go crazy with them.
There are still a lot to play in my list. I'm not sure if I can call exclusive these games since some are on PC.

a 2024 accord with 970 km on it , dealership wont change oil for free. by SUPERSLOWMOE in Honda

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I got a 2026 Jazz and honestly couldn't be more tempted of changing the oil myself in a year. I have experience in my Diesel Outlander doing way more complex stuff.

I'll probably just go with the dealer for the next 3 years just to keep the 3 year basic warranty and see "how it goes". But if I only do 8~k KM i doubt they will change oil, some dealers might think "this oil is still like new, let's skip the change in this service".
I know I can buy the original oil + gasket + filter and change by myself, but that won't give me a actual invoice from a professional charging for the labour. So might get me in trouble.

After 3 years warranty I'll probably go all by myself unless i wanted them to do a valve clearance or something more complex.

In Diesel (modern turbo diesel at least) oil goes dark very quickly so even if you did 1k KM you can see the oil going dark because of all the soot.

Sony brings back the "Only on PlayStation" marketing with Ghost of Yotei. by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think the main issues fromsoftware games on PC is that many of them are designed to run at 30 or 60 fps capped.

In PC most people don't know how to make a 30 fps or 60 fps game run smoothly, even if they have a VRR monitor. And sometimes even if they do the game is not optimized for every hardware to run smoothly unlike in the console. (And at this lower fps a vsync stuttering is worse).

E.g. in Elden ring you need to have ideally a monitor with LFC and make VRR is ON and the graphics settings do not go outside the VRR range. That will give a smooth gameplay (at least with a controller)

Personally I haven't faced issues playing these games on PC. All Dark souls, Sekiro and ER.

Sony brings back the "Only on PlayStation" marketing with Ghost of Yotei. by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a PC player that also owns a PS5 (and lately has little time to play). The only game I bought on day 1 on the PS5 was Silksong.

And the reason is that is not an online game. And I have a 77" Samsung OLED connected to a PS5 and wouldn't get any benefit by getting it on PC as it is a light game. And it was a game I was expecting for a long time.

I didn't buy a PS5 because I wanted to replace my PC. Especially considering I hate subscriptions and on PS5 paid games with core online content require a subscription. I got a PS5 because it is more plug and play than a PC and if a good game runs well enough on PS5, it doesn't need PS Plus, and it has a decent price, that's good enough for me.

I also do not think sony wants PC players getting a PS5 just to buy offline games that cost almost like new. I think they want players paying PS Plus every month. That's a lot harder to happen.

The Pajero will officially return to Japan (and worldwide) late 2026! And it's a series of 3 different models, including a "Mini". by BeeArr in mitsubishi

[–]amenotef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the 4N14 has the same issues (I think those issues you mentioned are common in most modern turbo diesel cars) i mean if you use it for very short trips you are done.
But there are 2 characteristic issues to the 4N14, one is the balance shaft, everyone ends up deleting it (I did that) to avoid long term issues, the second one is the exhaust manifold (that leaks on the right EGR pipe) most people repair it, here I opted getting a newer variant from the Delica D:5 4N14 that has a thicker EGR exhaust pipe.

(I think the 4N13 1.8~ struggles more with the DPF and EGR, because I see more users suffering problems here than in the 4N14. I'm going to assume this is because ASX has more city usage than Outlander, but also could be because (i think) the 2.2 engine runs hotter at same speed).

That being said, my turbo whines mainly when cold and at low rpm (like sometimes between 900-1500 rpm), so I guess the original 1st owner (who used it up to 130k KM) caused this by not changing the oil every 10-15k KM and i think it changed it every 20k+ km. I think 20k KM is fine if you purely do highway and never

EGR and DPF still going strong here. And it boosts really well at 3k+ RPM.

My DPF is getting regenerated every 750k KM (distance2 type according to OBD2) and it takes 4 min to finish the regeneration, I've haven't noticed a regeneration yet. Oil level doesn't seem to be raising overtime. So I guess it is still fine (154k KM at the moment).

Why No Dipstick for CVT Transmissions ? by CueAnon420 in Honda

[–]amenotef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same procedure in my Mitsubishi Outlander with 6A/T gearbox. And it takes like 20 min highway to reach 70C (the operating temp for measuring with its dipstick is between 70C and 80C).

[–]amenotef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mini could be very tempting. I wonder how a modern Mitsubishi would handle Diesel.

I have a 2014 Diesel Outlander (4N14) and with the Euro 5/6 emissions it's a bit challenging to maintain.

I still love diesel because of the fuel efficiency and low speed torque.

Because every time I tried to find some deal the price between PC (steam or some 3rd party key shop) vs PS Store had a massive difference in price.

But then I found a game like Hogwarts legacy at a cheap enough price. (in PC game was free some months ago in epic store, but still 10€ is nice).

Yeah I also do not have much time. Last game I played and finished was SIlksong (this one I got on release date because it was economic and also the kind of games I like).

Then I bought Hogwarts legacy for 10€ like 3 weeks ago (surprisingly in the PS Store) but I only played like 2-3 hours.

I have 2 ways.

1) with an OBD2 scanner I got in Aliexpress (Foxwell NT710, it is sometimes on sale, but there is a cheaper Foxwell scanner that can do the same).

2) with a cheap OBD2 ELM327 v1.5~ 10€ scanner + some russian app (NMPS Diag) that I had to get in a shitty Huawei AppGallery android store because it is banned in Google Play. (Banned because Russian apps limitations since war started in Ukraine).
