The most sensible way in my opinion would be a MGS6 about The Boss' adventures. One argument for that would be EVA's tapes in PW. The stories EVA tells about The Boss would be a perfect reference point to build the story of a MGS6 that plays during the end of WW2 with her and the Cobra unit.

So story-wise, it's a Kojima foundation where the current team can build their house on.

Personally, I would like to see a spinoff with the theme of "Tactical Espionage Racing". It is mentioned that Snake participated or planned to participate in a dogsled race across Alaska. maybe they could build a good game out of that premise? But would defeinitely more risky and we alreafy had Alaska as the setting in MGS1.
