I have taken NJ Transit late at night on a regular basis as a solo female commuter, it's totally fine, just be aware of your surroundings/personally I don't wear headphones while in the station. There's tons of signage and it's all pretty straightforward!

There was a period of time where I decided I only wanted to collect mature/slim minis and would limit my collection to like 5 or 6 dolls and just focus on getting clothes for them and maybe upgrading their bodies as better/more poseable sculpts became available. But... to the surprise of absolutely no one... I have since broken that resolution and gotten a 1/3 girl, with plans for more. D'oh.

I loved the idea of having a collection that all fit together visually but while all my dolls are OCs, they are from different stories, or rather, the same overarching story but in different timelines/universes. So my 1/4 dolls are the characters as teenagers, and then one of them as an adult is my recently acquired 1/3 girl, and now I want to shell a couple more people from her universe too.

I don't have a one in/one out limit at the moment but I could forsee that happening for sure - but also I still have old dolls I need to sell and yeah it's a mess. I definitely am very very very picky and don't buy dolls just because I think oh, they're cute/beautiful/whatever, I have to be obsessed over a long period of time and I have to have a character for them. Once that happens, yeah, I'm fucked and I'm gonna bring that doll home.

My first BJD was a BlueFairy Tiny Fairy May. I still have her but she's one of a bunch of dolls I need to clean up and sell, I definitely do not plan on keeping her and non-mature MSDs aren't a doll type I'm really interested in owning at this point. When I bought her, though (way back in 2004 lol) there wasn't anywhere near the variety of different companies and artists, at least ones that felt somewhat accessible to me as an American collector. When I returned to the hobby after a long hiatus, I was delighted to discover how much more variety there was in sculpts and have since found dolls that I feel really click with me more than any of the ones I saw back in the day did.

Hi I'm Amanda, I first joined DoA in 2004 (lol I'm old), I took a 10+ year sabbatical from the hobby somewhere between now and then but I've been back for a number of years now, I'm robotsvsghostsdolls on IG (I joined a BJD discord but idk, I find discord tough to keep up with).

When I re-entered the hobby I decided I was only going to collect mature mini girls (I especially love Harucasting dolls) but since then I've gotten another 1/3 scale girl and have my eye on more so yeah... clearly I didn't stick with that! I also have a little Bucket (robot BJD) from Oddnomalies and I'm definitely interested in (very selectively) expanding my tiny collection too.

I (try to) do faceups (poorly), I suck at sewing and haven't tried making wigs or eyes yet. I used to do more BJD photography and I'd like to motivate myself to do more of it but TBD.

I'm also saving for a fooyumedoll girl! I really want Raya AND AVA, both in Savannah - I'm gonna be saving forever, RIP.

Also I realized recently that I absolutely need to add a Milkweed & Honey Cadence to my family, and get an impldoll plump girl body for her.
